What are some of those quotes that you have kept in mind long after the fact?

Here are some of mine:

"NO! You'll never improve if you learn it wrong!" - Akagi (Slam Dunk).

That quote always rescues me from the deep fall of half-assing stuff.

"It's ok to be wary of embarrassment, but it's never ok to let the possibility of embarrassment get in the way of growth" - Hikaru (Major 2nd).

Just a piece of genuinely good advise.

"Try putting yourself in the shoes of the ignored" - Kuroko (Kuroko No Basket).

Facts.

My name is Henri Ducard, but I speak on behalf of Ra's Al Ghoul: a man who is greatly feared in the criminal underworld... and who can give you direc-- Wait, wrong media 🤭

Wolfwood from Trigun before he dies... "and yet sometimes I think to myself there is no place worse than this planet... its horrible here".. I could go on in even more detail in the Trigun episode Paradise, Cowboy Bebop Ballad of Fallen Angels, Jupiter Jazz, or Real Folk Blues... or other stuff I adore like Please Teacher when they first kiss... but Ill jut leave it at that.. he makes love to Milly before he dies

— Cheerio!

see now Im watching it... takes a drag and says"that tastes good"... followed by "I dont wanna die this way"... "im a MAN"... aww fuck.. I need a drink

I grew up on older films from Mary Pickford to Jim Rockford (James Garner), meaning the beginning of the 20th century to the 70's. I only started watching anime around my 30's which was a little over 10 years ago, so all my heart felt quotes didn't come from anime, but more from black and white TV shows. However, I have watched a lot of anime since then and when it comes to anime, for me, it feels more like animated poetry and if there's anything I love a whole lot, it's poetry. <3

"Use it... medicine.. make pain.. disappear" (said in broken japanese)

"Dont need it, pain is what makes me feel alive"

"Incredible, truly incredible, i like you more and more"

(Sword of the stranger)

i like what it means for the story, there is all this massive players fighting for power and greed using this drug that makes you immune to pain and then you have this two swordsman that reject it, why?

because to them pain is a teacher, to signal whats wrong, to guide you foward and that accepting it is to know, that for as long as you have the ability to feel it, you are alive.

In the original Dragon Ball when Goku keeps tapping Bulmas pussy and says you're not a boy
Always cracked me up how dumb he was

"Curros?... CHURROS!!!!"

-Don Patch
Bobobo-Bo Bobo-Bo

well at least the anime is good but google doesnt like it... I completely forgot about this show... and I just got done seeing Vash the Stanpede stand up to Knives... good job Tsukishima
Martian Successor Nadeisco really feels like it was forgotten by the entire world. It stood really strong once upon a time in the past and was one of Japan's most popular shows back in that culture, and people really loved Ruri Hoshino like I do so you'd think there'd be influence, that you'd still see it here and there ... guess not.

Same can be said for Yamato, right? One of Japan's most influential anime and there is nary a shard of respect or appreciation for it anymore. Hopefully in Japan the love is still going strong!

I absolutely know what you mean by Trigun, that scene broke my heart and the shards that remain, I try to hold onto those shards, prickly as their edges may be.

Oh yeah, Martian Successor Nadesico is awesome, I have the dvd... but I have other stuff that makes me happier like on VHS like Arcadia of My Youth, Angel Cop, Vampire Hunter D x 2, but it reminds me of a show I go crazy over when Im off work and trying to relax called Planetarian.. that thing kills me

I have all of those on my watchlist actually, including M.D Geist, I'm so excited to see all of these.
