Can someone help me? I'm trying to use Xidi and Hookshot as mentioned on PCgamingwiki so I can use xinput in the game, but I can't get it to work.

Has anyone else done this and had it work? Can you give me some guidance?
Try this, I put together this pack to launch the game through Hookshot and wrap Xidi into the game. You'll have to launch the game through the provided *.bat file since it must load the game's executable through Hookshot. You'll have to make sure you're running at least Windows 10 and have the Visual C++ Redistributable 2019 or newer (both x86 and x64 versions) installed on your machine. The *.bat file also assumes the game executable is using MEGAMANX8.EXE as the file name; rename it in the *.bat file with a text editor to whatever the current game executable is named, or rename the *.exe for the game to MEGAMANX8.EXE.

I dunno about that and I'm not the most up to date guy regarding PC gaming.

HOWEVER...

I feel this indie software will save you a lot of headaches, it sure did for me since I discovered it in 2009 https://joytokey.net/en/

You know what they say, think smarter not harder.

Forgot to share these screenshots of the game upscaled with dgVoodoo 2 in my initial post, and while the game doesn't have mouse support during gameplay, it does have mouse support for the menus and changes the cursor to a SNES sprite of X, which is kinda neat that they put that in this port. If you're using dgVoodoo 2 to upscale the resolution, make sure to play the game in fullscreen mode but for some reason the upscaled internal resolution only works on fullscreen with dgVoodoo 2.

This PC port of Mega Man X8 doesn't get enough respect. Compared to the trainwreck that was the Korean-only PC port of Rockman X7 by Multi Enterprise, this PC port of the original Mega Man X8 was fairly solid. A few visual effects looks like it got downgraded a bit compared to the PlayStation 2 version, but you can play this beyond the typical 640x480 resolution that was common some in Capcom's older PC ports around the mid-2000's (up to 1600x1200 though), it has 3D positional audio to make up for the lack of Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound, you can actually remap most of the keybinds, and unlike the X7 PC port, you can also use a controller as well with rumble support (granted it's DirectInput-based, before native XInput became more commonplace with PC games). The other cool thing about this PC port is that it has dual-audio tracks (provided you're using the 2-Disc releases of the game because there are 1-Disc releases of Mega Man X8 PC in some countries with language options being limited to whatever region it was from) and it also had the Japanese intro music, WILD FANG by Janne Da Arc (the video itself however is slightly edited to remove the "Rockman X8" branding if the game was install with any other language option besides Asian/Korean/Chinese, but it's a minor nitpick).

The downsides are the PC has no graphics quality settings (so no anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, etc.), and even at 1600x1200, the internal resolution of the game looks rather crunchy. Some keybinds are hardcoded (sadly the Arrow Keys, Space bar, Enter, and Esc are reserved for player movement, answering the Navigators, Confirm, and Menu/Cancel respectively). Despite having better frame-rates than the PlayStation 2 version (assuming it was above recommended requirements but that's not really an issue on current computer hardware), it does have some loading hitches as the game tries to load certain things in the background in some places that I wish could be eliminated outright. It's also sadly one of those older PC games that don't use the D-Pad if the controller has an analog stick too like many modern controllers, so the game uses the Left Stick to move instead of the D-Pad, and despite favoring DirectInput, not all DirectInput-based controllers will be fully compatible (if at all). It should be possible to fix some of these issues like the low internal resolution with dgVoodoo 2 and set up Xidi + Hookshot so it cooperates better with XInput controllers, though I wish there was a more convenient/drop and forget kind of set up to make this port work better on modern systems. PC Gaming Wiki article for the game can be found here: Mega Man X8 on PC Gaming Wiki.

This includes the japanese voices, right?
Yes but only voices for some reason.
That's sadly another weird thing about the PC port of Mega Man X8, not all supported languages are installed into the game itself. So for example if you told the game's installer program to install the game in English (USA) during the installation process, the in-game Select Language setting in the Main Menu will only offer English (USA) or English (UK) for text and English or Japanese for voice-overs. So if you speak for example German, you'd have to install the game with the German option. Don't know if it was a memory limitation at the time, but still sucks regardless.

I can't get it to run on Win10 it ran fine on Win7 and WinXP idk what the issue is and information online about that port is scarce.

Also, I can't really do specs is beyond my capabilities, I don't game on PC at all I'm a console gamer, sorry.
Ok, no problem, bro, :'). But knowing the OSs where this game runs well is enough to have an idea to guide us, :d¡

Maybe you would share the korean PC version but telling the specs and required OSs, :d¡

Considering I missed out on the PS2 this is the version I grew up with, I also grew up with the PC versions of X3, X4 and X5.

I also wanted to share the Korean PC version of Rockman X7 (English patched) as this was the version I grew up with as well, but for some reason it did not work on my sister's laptop (Win10) but I know it worked on both my old computer (Win XP) and my old laptop (Win7), oh well.

I recently played X7 from an ISO I found on the Archive website (it has 3 executables). To get it working on Windows 10, I had to set the compatibility options for "RMX7 V1.exe" to Windows 98 and check the box to limit the resolution to 640x480. Also, there absolutely has to be an ISO mounted (it can be an empty one).

Although for me I grew up playing the Rockman X/Mega Man X Games through the Mega Man X Collection on the GameCube (although that compilation came out exclusively in North America due to the high popularity of Mega Man X in the USA, Mexico and South America).

Honestly I played the PS2 version and it's fine to be a Rockman X/Mega Man X game in 2.5D perspective and the PC port looks good and is based on the PS2 version.
You telling me there is Mega Man X8 PC port all alone?. I must be dreaming
I'm just know discovering this PC port, wat
