What are some mech games y'all have been playing? I've been playing mechwarriors but wondering if anyone else has found some good ones.

the original armoured core game is absurdly streamlined for a playstation 1 era mecha game it is a very high recommendation from my lips to your cute little monkey ears

Armored Core is always great for Mech action. The Front Mission series is a good time too if you like Strategy games.

I've found games like ring of red, i really wanna fine some more niche or different franchises, but alas might have to wait for more games to come out.

Ring of Red was fantastic, if you enjoyed that then it may be worth trying Front Mission if you haven't already? The first two have remakes but you can emulate the third game on PSX easily and it's brilliant.

Sadly i have played some of front mission, i think i know of all the mainstream games.

Been meaning to see if the SNES port of Mechwarrior is any good. Loved 2 on Win9x way back when. Armored Core too.

It's a dead multiplayer game tho, you'd have to find a guild and the vets left are vicious killing machines.

never played it, but my classmate/friend never shuts up about Super Robot Taisen: OG Saga Endless Frontier. dont know if its good, never checked. dont even know if its mecha lol, im just guessing by the name

The Gundam Battle series on the PSP are great tps you should try.

Mechassault 1 and 2 were awesome arcadey mech-shooters from the the Battletech/ Mechwarrior IP.

Man .... i wish the old PC Mechwarrior games getting rereleased with fixes . I wanna play those badly . Especially 3 and 4 .

Robo-Pit 2 (JP Version) and Frame Gride, these two games are so criminally overlooked, that even with the fresh new eyes and discovering of forgotten classics, these two seem to have fallen by the wayside, unfortunately so

Yes it's easy to be confused by this. Despite the name, Endless Frontier isn't a mech game. It's a JRPG with an action-based battle system similar to Valkyrie Profile or the attack segments of Namco x Capcom. I don't know if the mechs that show are directly controllable or are just summon attacks. Either way I don't think it fits what TC wants.

@SuperSaiyanTao can you be more specific about what exactly you want and what level of hardware can you run? For your Macross question, I can tell you that the PS2 game is playable despite the language barrier. You just need to figure out the controls which shouldn't be too hard if you know the source material.
