Anyone here a fan of Mecha anime?
Eg Gundam,Macross,Getter Robo and Votoms ?
Gotten back into it after a few years hiatus.
Zeta gundam Votoms and Tekkaman blade are a few of my personal favourites.
I also really like code geass despite its flaw's for Lelouch and the ending of course.

I've been going through a lot of the classics from the 80s and 90s over the past few years, and even got my friends into them too lol. I got the big bluray collection of Patlabor and watched the OVA and first two movies with them (I had already seen them but my friend has a nice home theater setup). Also subjected one of them to Macross DYRL (which was my first time watching it), the first two episodes of Eva (which got him to watch the rest of it), and the Gundam 0080 OVA which I cut into a single movie.

Hell yea patlabor is really fantastic especially the second movie.

Yeah, it's one of the greatest anime films imo.
I think the TV version is a little underrated and might be my favorite out of the franchise. It's pretty long and has a strong slice of life element, so the characters get to shine. I saw Patlabor in release order, so OVA -> Movie 1 -> TV + New Files OVA -> Movie 2 and I think that made Patlabor 2 hit harder, even if it's technically on a different timeline. You see the characters develop, then in Patlabor 2 it's like they're all grown up, especially Noa. It was actually kind of disappointing that the characters besides Goto and Shinobu had such a minor role in the movie.

Growing up with Robotech, Transformers and Techno police and Samurai pizza catz and star zinger. Mechs, Robotos and sci-fi has always been a favorite of mine.

Sadly they don´t make much Mech and Space operas anymore. Surre we get some new gundam but that´s about it :(

awesome villains in the series i cant remember them, too many years back i watched Samurai Pizza Cats

Well, you have before you the expert at european level, or better world-wide, or better galactic, or better universal level of the work of Gō Nagai, father of japanese "mecha"animation.
My favorite series: Great Mazinger, Getter and Getter G, Steel Jeeg, Grendizer, Gakeen and Gaiking. Series that I have re-watched (or will re-watch) recently with my son.
To these I add Daitarn 3, Zeta Gundam, GodMars, Traider G7, Baldios. ?

I watched a few Gundams and read Mazinger Z manga. Unfortunately, I lost interest because of my attention span and the Western fanbase being incredibly annoying.

I like Zambot 3, the Mazins of course, Getters, Robo Romance trilogy, J9 trilogy especially Sasuraiger, Sakura Wars, Votoms, Gunbuster, Diebuster, Eva, Tekkaman, Gurren Lagann, and so on. Guess I'm the weird one since I'm not into Gundam that's not UC.
Super Robot Wars OG universe too.
And Machine Robo too, well it's just okay, Rom being badass is the one thing that saved the show in my opinion.

Oh and does this count? Demonbane,
MuvLuv
, Full Metal Daemon Muramasa.

Holy based mecha visual novels are very cool you should check out baldr sky.

Yeah, I like mecha anime.

I like some Gundam series, but I really like the Japan-only SD Gundam stuff the most when it comes to Gundam.

I do watch stuff outside of Gundam, though. Some other mecha anime I love include Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Back Arrow, Star Driver, Gun X Sword, Macross Frontier, and Mashin Hero Wataru.

I do also want to shout out the manga version of Linebarrels of Iron specifically because I did read some of it and really like it.

I have been blessed & cursed with a life of Mecha.
I witnessed Gundam Wing, The Big O and Toonami as they first aired way back in 2000
Escaflowne (what little they did dub) on Fox Kids along with The Big guy & Rusty
Then, in 2002? I saw Neon Genesis Evangelion WAY to young. The uncut ADV Dub on the sci-fi channel. Saturdays at 9am.
Bubblegum Crisis, Giant Robo, Getter Robo, Guyver, Gunbuster, Martian Successor Nadesico all on VHS/DVD

And of course I grew up with Power Rangers. If you're into Mecha I implore you to look into Tokusatsu. Japan has been pumping out live action giant robots none stop. We just rarely get it in the west.

Even when the films and Bi-lingual and half in English. Looking at you GunHed

Yea l really like Toku stuff as well kamen rider Blade Garo And Ultraman nexus are some of my favs tbh

I've seen a few mecha ones... (Vandread, Darling in the Franxx) but hard to say it's something i find fascinating.

Though maybe people can help me. Saw part of an anime a while back. Girl buys a mech toy before intending to get on a train; Then gets sucked into alternate universe and is inside her mech, hunting down other mechs/monsters. (Saw part of this back in... 2021? so between 2016-2021)
