Meccha Chameleon crazy malware-fueled weekend on STEAM

Meccha Chameleon, one of Steam's biggest hits in 2026 so far, got hit by malware hard!

First one of the maps made available by the Steam Workshop had malware in it, apparently a trojan, then an admin of the game got hacked after getting infected by the malware while removing it and the Discord channel was highjacked, and then another map with malware got uploaded.

Now with version 3.1.0 everything seems to have been resolved.

Crazy, but not surprising. Kind of impressed there haven't been more malware-filled things in the workshop. Maybe I just haven't heard about them, hopefully this is just an outlier.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised too, especially with bigger games like Left 4 Dead or Gmod. Maybe there are some more isolated incidents that just don't get picked up, who knows.

Don't want to sound too apathetic and my hearts out to anyone who was affected by the virus, but I have zero interest in modern indie games and modern games in general, so my reaction to listening this news was kind of.
