This last BEEFBOY is still Active revived!
This is serial BA of a crt, we had a 27" philips deluxe xxx crt and that was already heavy pain in the a. and this is wth.
World's biggest Sony CRT TV was the PVM-4300 (also known as the KX-45ED1 in Japan), a professional monitor with a 43-inch visible screen from a 45-inch tube. Released in 1989, this massive set weighed over 440 pounds, cost $40,000, and is now considered a legendary piece of vintage technology.
  • Model: Sony PVM-4300 / KX-45ED1
  • Screen size: 43 inches visible, from a 45-inch tube
  • Weight: Over 440 pounds
  • Release price: $40,000 (approximately $100,000 in today's dollars)
  • Purpose: Professional broadcast and industrial use
  • Status: An extremely rare model, with only a few thought to exist

~OOC~
I saw this some time back. It was a really interesting video and a bit of history. The fact that he found it as the shop was shutting down and saved it from most likely being scrapped is impressive. Getting it all the way from Japan to, I forget now where he was, was just pure dumb luck. Also, kudos to the guy in Japan who basically without, they wouldn't have been able to pull it off at all. I love seeing history being saved.

Watched this a while back. The little story about the then CEO of Sony sending out repair staff when the owner said there was a problem with the TV is something we'll never see from Sony today.
Spoilers (I guess) - the original designer is still working there and wanted to talk about this TV, but then Sony management stepped in and blocked the interview.

Wow this thing is a giant, that was probably the beginning of the large flat screen TVs. I guess it took four people to carry the device back then.

More like 6-8, and that's 440 pounds of dead weight.

Though two people could carry it fine, this one is a massive CRT. Dimension wise, and to safely carry and maneuver it, it would probably take six people at the least. Now four could carry it, but if I were moving something that big and expensive at the time, no less than six people minimum.

Ok then four bodybuilders would probably do well, I guess that would be a good muscle workout 💪💪💪💪

Thanks for sharing Matricks, I remember my cousin having a gigantic Tube TV when i went to visit him in the USA (Could have been just a digital TV that was fat). That was years ago, at time he said he was able to furnish his entire apartment with weird dumpster furniture lol. I Imagine most of those unconventional, unnecessary and creative thing tend to appear more when a country is doing well economically. Don't really know when we are going to be seeing things like this again.

Thats a hunk of a TV for sure lol. I remember playing on a big wooden TV and a small asf TV when I came home from school. I got my first HD TV on my 18th birthday and never went back to CRTs after that.

Part of me wants to find a decent one someday, but I don't have the room for it currently ::cirnoshrug

Definitely bookmarking this video for a later watch though.
