That sounds selfish to me, and like you're trying to justify your enjoyment of AI by minimizing anyone who has a different opinion or points out the negative effects of where it comes from. Who are these "many people"? Can you cite any examples? Otherwise, you're just using strawman arguments and dismissing anything they say because they are emotional. Sure, AI is a tool, but where did the resources come from to make that tool, and how is it being used? Those are the things I have a problem with. It's not the concept itself, it's the fact that it's all trained on stolen assets and is being shoved into everything unnecessarily because it pleases investors and pumps stock prices. Data centers are hoovering up power and resources and RAM manufacturers are raising prices exponentially for what? Some cool advancements in medical research, but also a bunch of AI slop images and videos. The former is great, the latter has no appeal to me. It's not the AI itself, but these things are part of the baggage that comes with it.

Yeah, the main problem is with corporations, I agree. I still don't want to see it. Is it inevitable? Seemingly. Does it have its uses? Absolutely. Are you entitled to enjoy it? Of course. I personally don't enjoy it. I'd be a hypocrite if I tried to browbeat you into not using it, since I've torrented plenty of stuff for free.
