I'm curious on how everyone here is able to manage their time. I imagine most of you have different hobbies (gaming of course), personal projects, etc. Also you might have work, family, friends or a couple to spend time with.
So how are you able to juggle all of it without feeling that you have to do everything at once and enjoy what you are doing in the present?

The short answer is that I don't.

I have work, then chores, then my family, then I'm basically on-call 24/7 while taking care of my grandma -- RGT is basically my only unscheduled time, and the one that keeps me sane.

I, myself am trying to do something bigger than myself but there are other things that I want/need to do on top of other things (which distracts me) that makes me feel like my time with my ambitions is taken away.

I have at least made a self-schedule to manage but it's rather random...

It's always nice to know that you are not the only one with the same problem lol.
I've been struggling lately since I find myself having less time for myself and basically lost the plot on what I want to do for myself.

I feel that now I'm managing everything a little bit better, but I always like seeing other people's perspective.

I just go with the flow, towards whatever my whims point me at.

I have already achieved everything I wanted, so just doing whatever to kill time until the reaper takes me.

this but ive achieved nothing i wanted (its a serious problem im working towards)

i don't. i suck at time managment and coast in low gear all the time

The answer is short and sweet: I'm not able to, and I don't even feel like playing anymore.

I manage it poorly. Time management has always been something I've struggled with. I think a routine or some sort of structure is important. I'm more successful with self-improvement and productivity when I stick to a routine. Whatever it is you wish to achieve, you need to prioritize that over other things and be willing to sacrifice things for it. I haven't done that, trying to do everything and please everyone, and have ended up accomplishing nothing in my life as a result. Of course, if you have a goal or deadline to keep you accountable or some sort of tangible consequence of failure, that can help with motivation too.

Personally, I used to struggle really hard with this problem. These days, I've found that having a really rigid routine is the best way to get shit done without going insane.

Now i get up the same time every single day, even the weekends, and make sure that I get anything I need to do physically or chore-wise done in the first part of the day. That way, by the time I'm low energy in the evening, I've not got anything else to do and can just pick an activity for myself or w/e.

I imagine though it depends heavily on your life situation too. If your job is super demanding, it might be hard to try and maintain a social life and hobbies on top of that as well.

I work from home and they're not on my ass so it's easy to indulge in my hobbies, go out and do my things. A privilege I guess.

I have a habit of keeping my house clean so I don't waste my time with that on the weekends.

Damn a lot of you guys suck at time management.
Normally i just leave my hobbies for the last stretch of the day since im busy the rest of the day from morning to nightfall. I'll play videogames or watch anime or practice kanji before going to sleep and thats that. It helps that i have several shops within 5 minutes of walking from home so buying groceries takes almost no time, but i do avoid cooking complex recipes so i can entertain my hobbies for longer :p.

Obviously if your're a fan of long games like jrpgs this means you'll spend a few good months per game since i can only do about 2-3 hour sessions per night and i dont always spend my time on videogames. I dont mind this since i still enjoy the games at my own pace. But i take advantage of summer vacations from uni to play 10hours or so per day until classes resume.

I care for my dad and have catz that look at me through the window alll dayyyyyyy asides from that youtube, showers, mental health work online and leaving people nice comments on tik tok. I have a U bend pillow and like to watch movies in bed and retro game on my handhelds so when your not on a console your still getting game time in.

I try to give time to everything I want to do, with more productive stuff with more priority.

Many times I cant do everything, so the next day/weekend I try to do it.

...something that I admittedly do need to work on! Less doomscrolling, more doing productive stuff like finishing long time backlogged JRPGs!
Oh, and personal life stuff too I guess... (like losing weight, heh)

I'm fortunate enough to have an easy going job, flexible work hours, and no worry of being bothered when I'm off, so it's not too hard to juggle work, errands, exercise, and leisure time in my case. Sleep tends to be the only part I really struggle with, as sometimes I don't feel like calling it a night when I should and stay up late doing other things.

Covid fucked up my life entirely and made me unlearn how to manage my time or set my own schedules properly. But we're fighting back.
