I'm okay with this. While I did find the open worlds in the first two games incredibly immersive, they were mostly window dressing. Mafia 3 was the first game in the franchise that littered the open world with more things to do, however I don't think that benefited the game at all since it's the weakest installment in the franchise.

Is it a good thing they dont do an open world? I dont know about that. Only played the first remaster, in VR with the HUD and mini-map removed (realVR mod), and the whole "learning the map and the landmarks while doing the taxi" stuff was kind of cool. Genuine gameplay.

The shooting on the other hand was a bit clunky, and it was funny that the narrative was so serious while I was raking a cop kill count in the hundreds...

Mafia 1 and 2 are SO good but it wasn't the open world that made them great. I'm willing to give this game a chance.

The pricing really surprised me. I was thinking that they would charge $70. Although I'm happy about the price now I'm worried about the length of the game. If it's just 15-20 hours long then $50 is a bit too much.

At least it's only $50, so it's cheaper than the Xbox 360 and PS3 games that it resembles.
