Welp. It's April 18th of the year 2025. This is finally released on Steam by the publisher GungHo Online Entertainment America Inc.

Don't have the $50 on me yet, but once I do I'll buy it. Unless you warn me before its too late in which case. Hence why I'm making this post. Consider me cautiously optimistic on buying this game like how I had with Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection when I bought it which turned out to be pretty solid.

I bought the Grandia I and II "HD Remasters" on Steam from the same publisher and can't wait how they've screwed this up though consider me curious on the new voice actors/actresses they got instead of Working Designs. Especially for the cast of Lunar 2.

All I can say is. I hope my $49.99 plus taxes wasn't wasted when I buy it eventually at next week as soon as I receive my check. That or wait for a price drop (if that is even going to happen and if the game is disappointingly bad) before buying it as I want to buy it where it'll support the developers somehow.

$50 is pretty steep, I don't think I can rationalize this for myself for more than $25-$30. I'm glad these are bundled together like Suikoden was, value-wise, but they are still fundamentally the same experience they were in the 90's.

(Also after playing through the Suikoden remaster, I find myself wishing these things were a touch more aggressive with changes, like backporting the improvements that Suikoden II already made decades ago to the first game).

50 bucks is nice, it´s 25 pop a game. Saying 50 bucks for 2 games is steep. Not when
Castlevania Dominus Collection ask 25 bucks or Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection for 30 bucks for what basically are ports that runs on emulator that are not even remastered but just simple ports.
Or 60 euro for the METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION VOL which sure gives you about 5 games but they are all just ports.

So 25 a pop for 1 remaster and 50 for 2 is honestly a good price. which is basically the same for suikoden 2 games for the price of 50 so 25 a pop.

I'm not sure why Sega CD version of Lunar is so mistreated, they could just throw it in easily, and they certainly have resources to do so, but don't... for some reason
Right?! Plus, the intro is just beautiful.

Honestly, if the Sega CD versions were packaged in as well, the price would be a lot more attractive.

lunar a master piece
can not wait to see what they have done in this remaster
what they have change or censored in this version

still i think the lunar remastered is going to be a really good game to play

Honestly, the Remastered is just plain bad and not worth it unless you're a diehard Lunar fan back in the 90s. The game simply didn't age well both plotwise and gameplaywise.

It's basically still PSX WD localization with little to no changes aside of graphical quality improvement, new English dubbing and the censorship + WD difficulty mod removal. They even kept the annoying gameplay feature of XP limitation and sped up enemy mobs that force you to fight them most of the time despite sprinting. The only gameplay feature improvement is really just the fast forward combat button because the OG is fucking slow as snail.

I bet most only get this because they want to see nekkid Lucia scenes in all its HD glory. ::smirk1
