Lowered message count for seemingly no reason

I and many other users have noticed that our message count has suddenly dropped. Is this some kind of technical problem?

My count is the same.

EDIT: Original thought was threads being nuked. Looks like a new category of threads was implemented and adding the messages had yet to take effect.

Probably because some spammy threads like "Let's count to 1000" have been moved to a new subforum where probably messages don't count ?

"Introductions" now will increase post count.
Counters are being recalculated now.
It takes a long time cos there are many posts and users to count.

No they can't by design of xenforo.

Not a lot of options, there are "modern" types like Discourse and Flarum but they are nothing like this.
Then there are the "free" forums, PHPBB, MyBB and SMF but they don't have as many features as this.
And then there's the paid ones: Xenforo, Invision, vBulletin.
vBulletin is dead i believe and Invision wants $100 a month for the basic plan (yikes).
Xenforo you buy the license once and it's yours.
