This game has been in the works for so long, it's great to see it finally hit the physical and digital shelves!

Will you be picking it up? Or are there any other recent and upcoming modern releases that you're hyped for?

*Edit upon seeing initial Steam reviews: I expect modern games to need at least 3-6 months post-release nowadays before they're anywhere close to being in a fully-realised state.
Initial reviews for LSA appear divisive. On the one hand, shock horror, what a surprise, but on the other, I had hoped that a game with such a lengthy development time may have been more polished upon release. I would play it myself, as the proof is in the pudding, but that's a lot of money to fork out for an experience which by most accounts, appears not to be living up to people's expectations just yet.

I don't know but there's nothing good on the gaming market right now.
Not even MGS ∆?
I've gotta admit, as someone who was very skeptical of it, the game actually looks pretty fantastic from what I've seen.

Never heard of it before. Watched the trailers and they look kinda meh.

It really is a bummer that it seems to have become a given fact that games release in a very late beta stage at this point.

I was (and still am) very interested in this game for sure.
I think we actually talked about this in another thread before, but I still remember the original announcement from waaaay back in the day and it's definitely wild to see this game actually make it to market after all this time.
That said, I'm in a similar spot as you in that I'm not willing to spend that much money - let alone full price! - on something that apparently has some serious technical problems.
I plan on keeping my eye on it and maybe buy it once things improve and the price drops.

The demo certainly seemed very promising, though I've always found it difficult to judge a game based on a disconnected mid-game snippet like that.

(MGS ∆ is definitely quite good btw - only played an hour or two, but had a good time with it. Not that it's difficult to make Snake Eater enjoyable.)

While it wasn't a game on my radar given the trailers didn't give much of an impression, admittedly I still was curious on it. Though it'll have to be a game I'd wait much later along the way since I've heard the performance was not very good and it'll be launching with a day one patch so hopefully that does something to help it. Again gaming be like that these days but still hoping the game will be the best quality as possible on the developer's end.

I can't play games made for cosmic super computers. Only games made for gas grills with squirrels living inside them.

I saw it when it was revealed and hoped (until the title dropped) that it was Final Fantasy XVII. Terrible uninspired title aside it looked interesting and I did keep an eye on it for a while, but when I learned earlier this week that it launched this friday, I was like "...come again?"

Regardless, I pre-ordered, and the game is now added to my never-ending backlog.

This is the game that originally was developed by a single guy in China, right? That's all I really know about it and while he was offered a team down the line I think it's a neat little tidbit.

I saw this game on my Steam's front page and checked it enough to form an opinion:

The whole game clearly developed around the idea of "cool visual effects" that looks lame, a bad Android game quality. Most of the time you can't see shit among tons of VFX lol. I can imagine you need extra GPU and CPU just to make the game process all these VFX without making the FPS drop to 1. Perhaps we should ditch "can it run Crysis" idiom, we should upgrade it to "can it run Lost Soul Aside" lol.

The game seems to be another Souls clone BS without caring to be one but somehow trying to using its popularity to seem like one to sell it. Tons of empty spaces and attack whatever. It could be very well a clicker game and the guy attacks automatically so you can ready your popcorn and watch the screen as if it's firework show lol.

Among all the VFX stuff the game has no cool or fun way to kill. They used the default few typical Chinese understandings of what is cool, naturally it can even hardly attract Chinese gamers.

I watched a walkthrough video, I see most of the game you just go straight. Clearly the game is just VFX enjoyment simulator lol.

Sometimes people talk and they try to fool you that there is a story, it just exist for an excuse for more VFX lol.

After I learned about the game I would expect its price to be like $20 but it's fucking $59.99 USD when it's hardly a $2 game. Wow. My dude thought the character you play as would attract horny people way more than 2B, Bayonetta, and the woman in Stellar Blade or something lol.

TL;DR: $59.99 USD for a VFX show that fills how empty the game is lol.
