Greetings.
Currently, I am looking for which WipEout games that actually good to start to get into, or at least, for the beginner friendly one.
I have tried both of the PSP release few years ago, which being Pulse and Pure respectively. As far as I remembered, the game is really fun, but also increasingly punishing on medium-ranged difficulty and onward. Not to mention, I also suffered few lag spikes on some tracks, which mostly happens on Pulse. This could be both of my skill and device issue.
In my opinion, both of the mentioned games are fun and good in overall, but I couldn't think it's a good start for a beginner, at least it's for myself.
And so, I would like to asking for your recommendation of which WipEout that is considered as a start for beginner player(s).
Thank you for your attention, and have a great time out there.

(Note: I will most certainly not going to play the release that out for PlayStation 2 or PlayStation Vita (WipeOut 2048), due to device incompatibility. I hope you would understand.)

Those actually are the two games I'd suggest you start with. They are probably the most approachable ones.

oohh well

I would have recommend Pulse for PSP, my first experience with Wipeout and I loved every second of it; of course I wasn't very good in the most advanced levels, but still I felt the feeling of "getting good", meaning getting used to going from slow to fast tracks gradually. If you can't beat the last levels just don't care and enjoy with the tracks you can beat :) I did it this way.

Play Wipeout 3 Special Edition. That is the peak of the series. Easiest to play and with the most content.

Wipeout 1 is very difficult, if you even graze a wall your speed reduces to almost zero. This is an exercise in track memorization.

Wipeout XL/2097 is great, driving was made much easier, however the jump in difficulty from easy to medium to hard is large for a beginner so you might find it not fun to progress.

The later games just weren't as good as 2/3. Fusion/Pure/Pulse just feel slow and generic, they completely miss everything which made Wipeout fun. 2048 is purely a cashgrab.

After reading your recommendations (and your opinions/reasons about it), I suppose I will try WipEout 3 soon. Thank you for the recommendation, and I hope you have a great time out there.

Also, I apologize that I cannot replying any of you all at once (by using selected quote feature, I'm not sure). I don't know if that is allowed or not, but I think it'll probably counted as a spam or some sort.

wipeout on ps3 is the best
I don't have PS3 to begin with, or able to emulate one.
