Hello! I recently got a PS Vita. Ive been enjoying it a ton but I want to keep a list of things to try on it!
Memory shouldn't be much of an issue, I have a 14GB memcard.
Also would be good to keep track of stuff I missed on the PSP
Ports, original games, random apps (like Colors); anything is good!
*PS: I do have Disgaea 3, MGS HD and Soul Sacrifice physically*
Edit: oops should have added this, heres what I currently have going on
There's a text editor of sorts called VitaPad++, which seems to be highly regarded by the homebrew community. I haven't tested it, though, so I can't endorse it.
DOOM...the RPG.
It's a mobile phone game released back in 2005. Thanks to a community effort the game is playable on PC, and it got a port to the PS Vita. Check the VitaDB for the vpk. It's actually pretty good fun and worth checking out.
Since you got the Metal Gears check out Peace Walker and the overlooked Portable Ops.
You could put on a GB emulator and grab the GBC MGS game.

I had no idea Doom RPG got a port lmao. Ill def give it a shot!
Never gotten VitaDB to work but I don't mind installing things manually!
Ill def check out Portable Ops on here, as for Peace Walker, the HD edition on PS3 will be the main way I handle that.
Ghost babel Ill tackle on my DSi as GBC games look beautiful on the XL; perfect scale baby

If you can get the PS Mobile games to work on it (I don't know if these are emulated yet?), there's a version of Tokyo Jungle that is grid-based and I remember it being really great. But I can't access it any more on my vita, so I'm not sure if that's a fuzzy memory or if it was really great, heh.
110% agree, that DSi XL screen is nice.
Although depending on what Vita model you have, you may want to consider taking advantage of the OLED screen.
I use the VitaDB website, its much faster to navigate that than using the Vita.
Just noticed you might look into PSP games, in that case Adrenaline Bubbles Manager will create the PSP game shortcut on the main Vita screen and allow instant boot to the game, bypassing loading Adrenaline and the PSP interface.
AutoPlugin is a must as well. I have a plugin active called music_premium.skprx that lets you listen to music in-game. For PSP games it sadly mutes the game audio, but I noticed that it does not do that for PS1 games. This paired with Gran Turismo 2 makes for some nice gaming.

I have a 2000 model! No oled screen but hey USB Mini is mighty convenient!
I am well aware of bubble manager, I dont mind using adrenaline by itself though.
I enjoy scrolling through the PSP's interface hehe
I do have AutoPlugin! I do enjoy setting up plugins manually but sometimes its nice to have the convenience in there lmao.
Say, that plugin you mention is exactly the kind of thing I need, thank you!!
Try Ys Memories of Celceta, there's also a lot of ports like one of Diablo 1 that I want to try. Also with Adrenaline you could put some PSX or PSP games with a small size or the GBA emulator there.
...Oh man, yeah I guess so, if you're not a maniac like me and wants to download everything, then it should be just fine.
If not, there is always SD2Vita, literally saved my 1000 Vita and turned it into a homebrew machine!
Random question: what model you using? 1000 or 2000? The 1000 model is OLED... At the cost of it literally burning the screen due to overheating from the console, leaving these copper borders on the screen (they don't bother that much through gameplay, but it does break the whole look of the console sadly)

Ys is a series ive been meaning to get to! I think ill go through Ys Origins before any of the other ones.
Can't say ive tried diablo before, its worth a shot! Thanks!

AM2R (if you can find it). Freedom Wars and the God Eater games will also help you scratch the Monster Hunter itch when you exhaust Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd (which, if you've yet to play Freedom Unite, you're in luck... map the d-pad to the right analog stick, and never have to do *The Clawwwww*). Armored Core 3 Portable, P3P, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Silent Hill, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
Edit: and I'm ONE TROPHY away from the Downwell platinum. I just have to beat the game in Hard Mode.

When you get around to trying the PS1 port of Diablo, I highly suggest using the "Advanced" button combos or having buttons mapped to the bottom front touchscreen. Saying that as someone who has always played it on a 1000, 3000, or Go PSP.

You already got Muramasa Rebirth, which REAL AS FUCK
-Disgaea 4 (many argue this is the best in the franchise)
-Gravity Rush
-Dragon's Crown
-Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
-Grand Knights History, assuming you'll fan translate
-Fate Extra, CCC too assuming you'll fan translate (PSP)
-Black Rock Shooter: The Game (PSP)
-Exit 1 & 2 (PSP)
-The Dept Heaven games (Riviera, Yggdra Union, Knights in the Nightmare, Gungnir) (PSP)
-7th Dragon 2020 1 & 2, assuming you'll fan translate (PSP)
-Ridge Racer 2, don't even bother with the first on PSP as 2 is the exact same with more content (PSP)
-Final Fantasy 1 & 2 20th Anniversary Edition (PSP)
-Gitaroo Man Lives (PSP)
-both Yakuza Kurohyou games, assuming you'll fan translate (PSP)
-Persona 1-3 all have PSP equivalents, but P3P is no longer exclusive
-Outrun 2006 (PSP)
-Armored Core Silent Line, Last Raven, and Formula Front all have PSP versions
-Crimson Gem Saga (PSP)
-The Red Star (PSP)
-Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines
-Phantasy Star Nova
-Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception (PSP)
-Metal Gear Acid 1 & 2 (PSP)
Stuck with games that are exclusives (that you can't buy in the modern day), so no Persona 4 Golden

-I think id enjoy AM2R more in my computer in all honesty, still impressive how people went out and got it to work!
-God Eater is a series ive wanted to try for a while! Def something ill get to in due time
(I am in a bit of a tough triangle picking between Toukiden, God Eater and Freedom Wars lmao)
-Knowing that freedom unite has no lock on is... hoo boy, good thing the right stick is configurable on vita. Really looking foward to get to it! Ive wanted to play Portable 3rd for a long time!
-I did start AC3 Portable recently, have been enjoying it a lot! Being able to map functions to the touch screen and right stick is a god send.
-P3P is sadly not my cup of tea; I enjoyed persona 3 FES a whole lot but find the presentation in P3P to be rather disappointing... being able to walk around is a big thing for me, as dumb as that sounds. It is a shame im missing out on the extra content like Kotone.
-Xenogears is already on the list, ive received alot of recommendations to try it from friends, same goes to the Legacy of Kain titles!
-Vagrant Story... ive heard of it in passing mention but outside of that its a total mistery to me. Ill look more into it! thanks
Although im curious for the latter's Dreamcast version, id prolly stick with that if its better.
-Silent Hill im oddly hesitant to play despite enjoying Shattered Memories. Its bound to happen eventually but I fear I wont enjoy it.
Thank you for your suggestions! Ill keep in mind the tip for Diablo, appreciate it a ton! I wish you good luck with Downwell's platinum!

-Oh man I had no idea that odin sphere was on the vita! all news to me!
-I know a guy that has the premium edition of BRS... despite not owning a PSP because he just really loves the show. Dunno if I should watch the anime first.
-Well familiar with Mr.Esc there. I love Exit! it can be a bit slow but its still a lovely time.
-Planning on handling Dept Heaven in a bit of an odd way, mainly sticking to the GBA versions if possible and Knights in the Nightmare on DS because the level of control that you can achieve with the touch screen is the best. Gungnir I didnt even know existed LMAO, I mainly hear about yggdra union and knights in the nightmare.
-Gitaroo Man is an absolute joy and funly enough was the first thing I loaded into adrenaline when I got the system.
-Didn't know Phantasy Star had a game on Vita!! Oh man thats going to eat all my free time
-Ace Combat is a series im very much unfamiliar with but im intrigued
-Kurohyou is one im absolutely going to get to as soon as possible as I enjoyed the first alot... before dropping it, just got lost and the translation was missing alot at that point. Nows a good time to get back to it!
-Hehe I like Persona 2 IS on PSP. might do EP in winter.
-7th Dragon... hmm I did hear of the 3DS title but absolutely nothing else, ill keep it in mind
Alright! great list! a solid few I didnt know about that ill have to look into! Thank you very much!!

You like walking around, you'll be happy to know Persona 4 Golden STARTED on the Vita. If you want a dose of a Pokémon game, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Daganrompa are insanely good graphic novels. Grim Fandango Remastered (you get to use modern controls, or play it to completion with Tank controls for a trophy).
If you like rougelikes and you want something else after Downwell, there is Nuclear Throne, Risk of Rain, and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Terraria is also a classic. Nidhogg is HILARIOUS in MP.
Guacamole. VVVVVV. FEZ. Darkest Dungeon, Axiom Verge, Another World.
I have a 128GB SDtoVita, and I still got storage to spare.

-I am well aware of Persona 4 Golden's start on vita... I have a very very negative point of view on it despite its solid gameplay... ill replay it to see if I change my outlook on it but it was quite a grueling experience, genuinely the most frustrating time ive ever had with a game. I don't enjoy leaving games in awful notes so its in the bucket list. I played it on PC
-Digimon is one ive had in the back of my head! I wanna get into the series proper! I did start digimon world re-digitize decode on 3DS tho... should probably get that out of the way first :"3
-Danganrompa aint for me sadly...
-I have Grim Fandango on PC! Ill continue to play it there (id struggle to play it on the go... that game has some REAL brain teasers and the hints guide is too useful lol)
On a similar note, I dont have full throttle or day of the tentacle so mayyyybe ill try them out on Vita
-Isaac Rebirth is one im not really sure id play on vita, a lot of content has been released since rebirth on PC and other platforms so i'm not sure.
-Never heard of Nuclear Throne before but it seems fun! RoR is also another one im thinking of trying but a remaster has been released since so im not entirely sure which version to pick...
-Terraria... idk... I already have it on PC and I know alot of people that have been begging me to play it with them.
-Guacamelee I played on PC but would really enjoy portably; VVVVVV ill tackle on PC as a friend of mine already gifted it to me there
-Nidhogg I havent even heard of before till now but seems hilarious
-I love another world! ... but its a tough choise for me as I could play oddworld and heart of darkness on the system
-Can't say I know alot about axiom verge but its been recommended to me before and isnt too heavy in terms of memory so woudnt hurt to keep around
-FEZ is one im def will be trying! Ive heard about it for years and years!
