As for long games, I usually use guides to divide my time across bosses like in the souls games

I'm guessing you're using a mobile, yeah?
No, Im using laptop.
If you can emulate/find a DS/3DS, I'd say you'd be set with really any puzzle game on either.
I dont think my phone can handle 3ds but ds is piece of cake ofc. ill try those in my phone during commute. thanks a lot

-Loop Hero
-A Little to the Left
-Book of Hours
loop hero is addicting asf. Ill try the last two. Ive already played the cultist sim made by same company as book of hours because at that time I was heavily invested in Lovecraftian horror. Thanks for the recc btw.

Yeah not a bad idea because sometimes ago I was playing klonoa from Ps1 and I was having a great time.

Here is the weird thing about me, I dont like to watch/read guides. I'd rather not play the game ever but won't use guide. I know its very weird. I'll try to find some lvl based games for now I guess. Maybe in Mame Ill find many of those kinds?
Thanks for your rec

Oh, I thought of one you can play in short bursts: Super Amazing Wagon Adventure. It's a silly take on Oregon Trail but without any of the buying and trading, plays more like an arcade game. To say more than that is kinda spoiling it, but it's fun to go back to every so often.

Hey everyone! How's your day going? Due to my job, I don't have much time to play games anymore, but I try to squeeze in about 30-40 minutes each day. The challenge is that I can stick to this routine for a week, but then I fall off and forget the story and my next objectives. I'm looking for games that I can play daily without losing track of the plot, so that when I pick them up again, I can jump right back in without any issues. Any recommendations? I can emulate upto PS2.
Edit: Most of my life I've played rpgs but I am open to other genres as well. Recommend me something what you would play in this situation.
Fighting games. They don't really have a story in question to worry about and are short.

While I've already thought about that but its gonna be a skill issue for me. The only fighting game I've played and really enjoyed was Shadow Fight 2 on android because it was really easy to play. Playing this I've at least peak through what adrenaline rush avg fighting game enjoyers must feel. If you have any recommendation for a bit easier fighting games, do reco please.

I dunno why, I had a big ass smile while watching the trailer. I'll definitely try. Thanks a lot.

Oh okay, fair. There's a few easier fighting games out there like Astra Superstars or the Touhou fighting games, but they're a bit few and far between. Darkstalkers isn't too bad a choice either.

A literal digital stress ball, have fun destroying cities, you decide how difficult you want it to be:

ACQUIRE BRIGADOR, this game is such fucking kino. So damn good. If you like cyberpunk, dark settings about giant robots and warcrimes, you must play this game immediately.

In my case, it's one playthrough of a fighting game, usually one of the countless iterations of the Street Fighter series.

If not, a side scroller. Right now, I'm trying to re-play some of my old favorite Genesis games, Super Shinobi, Shinobi 3, Shadow Dancer, Batman...mainly because I finally managed to set up my emulator to sound right like I used to remember.

I used to play SF2 Turbo on my phone on every break using the touchscreen controls in MAME.
I also recommend fighting games it's a new experience every time. Other than that I would recommend an RPG of some kind and just use save states when you need to save.

I found the mission structure in Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and Peace Walker to be ideal for short play sessions.

I also recommend Outer Wilds, it's...actually no I don't wish to spoil anything from this game. The way it's setup works well with your limited gaming time.

MonHun series
God Eater series
Gundam Battle series
Monster Hunter is perfect for what OP is looking for.

It's a series where you work as a Hunter for an Adventurer's Guild, taking on missions that can be cleared in under 30 minutes. It's low-stakes, some missions are repeatable, and you'll become very familiar with the area you hunt in, knowing where resources are to farm when needed.
