Hey guize! Just take a look at this gorgeous setup:
ps1based.jpeg

I am 99% sure these are UnitedStatian Department Of Correctionals issued devices, sold in the Comissary of Jails and Prisons.

The idea behind transparent devices is to avoid the hiding of contraband inside of them, without having to disassemble them each time there is a "Shakedown".
These are privileges, and available only to rich inmates, not a right or anything.

I saw a couple of them while being moved between different state's county jails during my Immigration Detention (long story, I had a Visa and requested asylum in a point of entry, but ICE deported me in contempt of Court and in violation of Convention Against Torture. x''DDDD)

Admittedly it is not mine, although I wish it were.
Found this image in some Russian Telegram channel devoted to Rare Memes and Aesthetics.

What is your PS1 setup?
What is the best PS1 setup you have encountered?

Show and Tell, guize!

good old clear prison TVs - my friend's dad was a frequent jailbird and he had the Bob Barker (not that one) entire line of prison gear (those orange shower shoes for example) which he hoarded "just in case I gotta go back"

As a 90s kid, I loved the clear plastic look on electronic! I had a purple transparent Game Boy Advance as a kid.

Hey! Me too!
I had the Atomic Purple Game Boy Color in 98 or 99.
Now I have an RG35XX(plus) in that same color, well a bit more Vampire Purple than Atomic Purple.

But yeah, I always loved that aesthetic.
In my Dad's Advertisement Agency they had a couple Mac Colours... iMac g3?
Peak 90s Aesthetics.

I still love clear plastic I used to have a clear plastic PS2 slim but sadly not longer with me as I had to sell my collection I used to have. Yes it was a third party case I put on my self. Also I modded that PS2 slim to be able to use hard drive just like the PS2 fat but you had to have the hard drive on the outside.

Yes I found the picture of it. I knew I still had pictures of my full game collection I used to have :(IMG_0632.JPG

If one look closly at the pack you can see the connection port for the IDE hard Drives on the Back.

That PS2 looks hot.
It was epic and I miss it. Sold my whole collection 8 years ago and don´t know who so could not buy it back if I tried to. And I say good luck finding a PS2 slim with third party clear case and modded to use IDE hard drives. :(

I still kick my self for selling my collection but it was that or starve to death.

hey, you enjoyed it for a while.
I wish I had it for a month. I bet you had it longer than that.
Everything in Life is impermanent.
I feel the same about my cat my family gave away without my consent, or my two ex fiances, or my cars…
This life is a constant exercise of letting go.
Personally I can only reconciliate the pain with my Faith.
I have come to desire Death to escape these cycles of losing, of missing… but only because I believe (prison helps assimilated the usefulness of Faith)
