Longest game for all consoles? (EXCLUDINGCONSOLES REALASED AFTER 2010)

For the Snes I think it's Shin megami tensei 2 with an average of 45 hours to complete the game, the longest PS1 game is easy to guess, Dragon quest 7, that game takes 131 hours to complete! on average! my source is howlongtobeat.com

26 years later and I still can't even figure out the combat, that's the longest game ever

Any sports game. They don't have any plot to speak of or complete so you can't really 'beat' them.

All I know is that it took me 125 hours to 100% Final Fantasy 12 on the PS2.

The ones my Dad plays (200+ hours for every Pokemon he played, 60+ hours for Dragon Quest XI on Switch and he's not even at 1/4) -but he likes to explore everything and grind and being strong for destroying bosses (I remember he defeated Yunalesca in ff10 without any problems, while in my playthrough I was totally dying and going through all my potions and phoenix down lol, also last battle in "FE Valentia", I was like one character with 1 hp and barely won, he was "I spit and the boss dies")

DQ 7 is a really long game but gran turismo has the 24h races and good luck to anyone going for 100%

I remember beating Star Ocean: The Second Story (PS1) after completing the optional** 13 floor super dungeon taking over 80 hours, and about half of which was spent in the said optional** dungeon..

(**Note: If you managed to unlock said super dungeon, then it's no longer completely "optional" due to you removing the final boss's "limiter")

As far as the shortest?

Just about any classic arcade Shm'up or Fighting game can be beat in about 20 minutes or so..

In terms of some arcade games, I'm sure you can beat the very first Metal Slug in less than 20 minutes. Maybe even 15 if you play at the absolute easiest.

And disregarding speedruns because I assume those are obviously not the point of the thread, I think any of the 3 original DK games on the NES could be considered as the shortest.
