For those who have the app called Nintendo Today, Nintendo has announced the worldwide release date for the live action Legend of Zelda movie. What are your opinions on this? Should it been animated insttad? Which actor would fit for Link, Zelda and Ganon? And will it succeed or will it flop?

Currently praying to every God i can recall for it to not end up a Marvel style movie with constant quips and the most generic Ganon Portrayal ever (Had faith until i saw the Minecraft trailer and read about Trolls 2 writers being behind it)

I feel like someone at Nintendo woke up on the 25th of March and remembered they have a lot of stuff to announce to people. I REALLY hope Nintendo doesn't fuck it up because I think a live-action LoZ movie could be really good if done right.

Watch them make Rachel Zegler Zelda.
Thankfully that evil queen got fired I bet only brainless people would hire her.

Honestly I rather they gone same route as the new mario and made it an animated movie. I personalty think the Mario movie was great and it worked because it was animated.
In my opinion thinking how ridiculous games can be how much they break reality making them animated makes more sense as cartoons also break all laws of reality.

I bet Live action zelda will be as good as Dragon ball or Avatar the last fart bender.

Is there a cast announced? Do we have a director? It is crazy to announce a release date without knowing these things.
I think that's just the norm for franchise releases nowadays; I'd give good odds that the writer and director change at least a few times before it comes anywhere close to a theatrical release anyhow.
It's not going to be good.

They're going to make Link speak.
There's a part of me that would love to see this as a running joke. Like, everytime our silent protagonist opens his mouth to speak he gets cut off by a moblin, or some panicky villager declaring "The Hero will scale the volcano and slay the Dodongo!" and just keep beating him to the punch.
For what it's worth, I'm not kidding about the Tom Holland prediction. I'm half expecting it.
Honestly, he could probably do just fine. I think Mike Faist (Challengers and West Side Story) would be a pretty good choice, personally.

Edit: Oh, actually, Mackenyu would be pretty great!
