On Wednesday, the 25th of June I went to my highschool graduation. The plan was to go, get my awards, and then me, my mom, my grandmother, and my aunt would go to Olive Garden after. But the problem is that neither my grandmother or my aunt came to the ceremony. Instead my stepfather who had no interest in going was there and I was confused. After the ceremony was over, instead of going to Olive Garden, me and my stepfather went home and my mom went to my grandmother's apartment. Little did I know, the reason things turned out the way they did was because my grandmother had died that day. To this day it hurts a lot and now I'm finding myself losing motivation to do anything, least of all playing video games. Part of me wishes my mom never told me that grandma died...but at the same time I know they if she didn't tell me that I would hate her forever for not telling me. It's a struggle everyday but I'm trying my best. I need time...and hopefully soon I will be able to get over her death and move on but I highly doubt it.

Sorry for your loss, bud. That really sucks losing your grandma on what was supposed to be a happy day. (Congrats on graduating high school by the way - that is still an accomplishment to be proud of even if the mood has been soured).

I know you don't want to hear platitudes right now like "death is just a part of life" or "time heals all wounds" but they are common phrases because there is a lot of truth in them. There is no "wrong way" to grieve -- so grieve for your grandma in whatever way you need to, take the time you need. But life really DOES continue on, and it will get better. You might miss your grandma every day for the rest of your life but in time you WILL be able to carry that with you as you move on with your life.

Also, i hate to bring this up but asking for donations is against the forum rules. You should probably edit that part out before the thread gets deleted or something.

I removed it. I never really read the rules and I was told to spread the word and share the GoFundMe wherever I can. I was kind of hoping to keep it up and see if anyone would listen but I didn't want to risk getting the thread deleted and having to repost it

My heart goes out to you and your grandmother.
Sometimes people leave us when we need them the most, and life expects us to simply get through it without them.
I'm terribly sorry for your loss.
