How do you record yourself playing?

I usually never record my longplays locally. I simply use Twitch and then import them to YT without editing. There would be too much work for it to be worth it.

I actually have most of my systems connected to a capture card most of the time, I intended to try and start streaming but it just wasn't meant to be. It's all still set up tho so it's pretty easy for me to record little gameplay snippets. Here's one from a few months back.

I didn't even know you could record yourself with Twitch lol
I thought it was only for showing streams to other people.

It is so easy on a pentuim 4!just you can't!it can't handle the vlc record!
Only true way is record on the emulator itself,VBA!
I heard a out old recorder but find them and run them are hard!and my old record need a heavy edited as I like.
As I publish them in a copyright breaker site I can't send them here.just mention them!

I would have been posting in this for sure if I saw it before today, so I guess I'll start now. For my reviews, I capture video from the game then take shots from the captures so I don't have to worry about awkwardly trying to take screenshots while playing. Sometimes I just capture video for fun even if I'm not playing something I plan on reviewing, so I always have something sitting on my hard drive. Here's me playing some of the Hexen remaster from last night. I can't promise it'll be very entertaining and I make no apologies for the amount of save scumming, but here it is. I uploaded it on a throwaway channel, but maybe I'll upload more stuff on it; we'll see. It would just be capture dumps like this one, only editing out any obvious stuff like when I flashed my Steam friends list at one point in this or if the files like over an hour.

Great! I’ve never been a fan of FPS genre, but Hexen, even though it’s part of the genre, has different mechanics. In my case, I bought Po’ed in the PS1 re-release because it seemed really crazy and zany. I think I’ve seen a remastered version on YT.
P.S.: I also use a “throwaway” channel!

Yeah Nightdive randomly did their usual treatment to it last year out of nowhere, for no discernable reason other than they wanted too I guess. Such a bizarre game.

I have replays on Youtube of me on Fightcade playing various of games online including Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Garou Mark of the Wolves, The King of Fighters 2002. I haven't bothered uploading any from Street Fighter V, or Street Fighter 6. Although I still have my old replays saved from 9-10 years ago of Ultra Street Fighter IV on Xbox 360 playing Vega, Hakan, and Dee Jay:

For being replays from ten years ago, you were doing really well—makes me wonder how good you’d be today! For SF and, more generally, 2D-based fighting games, you really need to be comfortable with fightsticks, which I’ve always struggled with (arcade cabinets included, of course). I’d at least like to try the new hitboxes in this context. Playing SF or a KoF decently with a gamepad is pretty tough.
