Game Description:

Let's Go Island 3D: Lost on the Island of Tropics is a Rail Shooter video game published by SEGA and developed by Sega AM3 released on 2011 for the Arcade.

Let's Go Island 3D: Lost on The Island of Tropics is an on-rails shooter for one or two players. It's the indirect sequel to Let's Go Jungle: Lost on the Island of Spice.

Players take the role of a young couple Beth and Zack, who are tourists taking a relaxing vacation around some Pacific Islands, when they find themselves attacked in hostile waters. Players must shoot their way through hordes of enemies, including man-eating sharks, leeches, killer crabs and other sea beasts. Hidden treasures can also be shot and collected.

The stages are called tourist attractions. After the first stage, there are multiple paths the player can choose to progress. Each stage ends with an end boss, taking the form of an oversized mutant creature. Each boss has several weak points displayed as targets which the players must shoot.

Occasionally the shooting action is broken up with quick time events where players must work together to perform synchronized actions, which must be done to avoid obstacles, otherwise health is sacrificed. During the quick time events the players must duck to avoid obstacles, repeatedly tap the button to start an engine, or jump by pressing the buttons at the same time. At the end of each stage the players' compatibility is shown as a percentage in a heart shape.

How to Run:

  1. The requirements for TeknoParrot are DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable
  2. Download TPBootstrapper from here
  3. Download the zip file containing the dat file from here and extract it to your Downloads folder
  4. Create a folder called TeknoParrot in your Downloads folder, extract TPBootstrapper and run the exe
  5. Tell TeknoParrot Web Installer to use the folder you just created
  6. Select and download TeknoParrot UI & TeknoParrot
  7. Extract the folder from the 7z containing the game files and move it into the TeknoParrot folder
  8. Launch TeknoParrotUi.exe and accept its privacy policy and when asked if you'd like to set up a game say No (it pops up twice for some reason)
  9. Click Next, click Browse and pick the .dat file from earlier and click Next
  10. Skip Game Scanning and then skip Controls Setup (we'll get to that in a bit)
  11. Keep clicking Next and then Finish. When asked if you want to add a game say No again
  12. Click the 3 lines menu at the top left and click Add Game
  13. In the list pick Let's Go Island 3D: Lost on the Island of Tropics (the regular edition has been known to have issues and not work properly) and click Add Game and Return
  14. Click Game Settings and click the line under Game Executable to be able to pick it and from the folder for the game pick the file LGI.exe Make sure Rawinput is the input API so you can use a mouse.
  15. Go back and click Controller Setup and set up the controls to how you like. Preferably choosing the mouse for the light gun. If you have multiple mouse/pointer devices you can have one be Player two as well.
  16. Click Play and wait a little bit for the game to start after initializing
  17. TeknoParrot will ask for you to update but it's not out of date and it just wants you to install the other modules that aren't needed for this game, so just ignore it.

I remember playing this with my brother at a pizza buffet. We played it all the way through. We got the bad ending though.

I love Sega arcade lightgun games!
I've always wanted to try out Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX.

I'll add it in a little while. It's for the Sega Lindbergh Red (I dunno the difference between Lindbergh Red and Yellow) and can be played through TeknoParrot too. Thanks for the suggestion. I like that even tho it was released only in Japan you can play it in English since they have an English version bios in it too

Cool, I never played it, never even seen it in our local arcades, but several "Japan exclusives" released here in Asia btw, if it's fully in English there's a good chance it also came out in other Asian countries, over here we got games like Luigi's Mansion Arcade, Mario & Sonic Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Arcade, House of the Dead Scarlet Dawn, and Mario Kart Arcade GP DX over at our local arcade here :)

I remember when the RingEdge and RingWide were just coming out, me and my brother thought they would be the new Sega console, the successors of the Dreamcast

Such a missed opportunity to rival the Xbox 360/PS3. I wished Sega never left the console game

To toggle the 3D feature on or off use the test mode button next to the play button and use the service and test buttons that you picked from the controller settings to go to Game Assignments to find the 3D option. It should be off in this since that's what I had it set to, but if not that's where you go to change it. The 3D makes the graphics look weird and it doesn't look good through a normal monitor

I played this and Let's Go Jungle at some arcade in Orlando when I was on vacation last year. I've had both stuck in my head since. Thank you!

I am getting an error message with this one. "Cannot find .\OpenParrotWin32\OpenParrotLoader.exe! It is probably removed by your anti-virus software. Please re-extract TeknoParrot."

I have House Of The Dead EX, 2Spicy, and Let's Go Jungle: Lost On The Island Of Spice working perfectly. Also, thank you for providing such clear instructions in your uploads.

Really? I was pretty sure this game uses the TeknoParrot.exe from the web installer and not the openparrot one. That's why I only mentioned to install TeknoParrot UI and TeknoParrot from it in that step. You can fix that error if you tell it to install OpenParrotWin32 in the web installer. I'll have to go back and see if I need to edit the post to mention that it's needed

That fixed it!! Big Thanks!!

Can this be played using a mouse or only with a controller? If it's possible to use a mouse, is it possible to play with a friend online, each using their own mouse?

If you read the description, you wouldn't have needed to ask that

Ops ::sailor-embarrassed The worst part is that I had read it, but I guess I didn't pay enough attention.
Lol it's cool don't worry about it. I tend to make some of my descriptions a little too wordy and long winded. Those steps that mention the mouse are easy to overlook

Not to get in the middle but personally I appreciate the detailed descriptions you put, I'm usually busy/lazy to add a lengthy description but I find yours to be quite elaborate and helpful especially in setting up these newer, more complicated emulators, as a console gamer, I tend to avoid PC for this technical stuff.
