Let's Expand The Writer's Guild

It's the perfect place to have sub categories for Fanfiction and such. I just think it'll be a good thing. Imagine if we had writing contests every month!

I swear this is the only forum we're missing. It would be awesome! I'LL HOST THE CONTESTS!!! I'LL POST THE MOST FANFICS, AND THEY'LL BE EPIC!!! I SWEAR!!!

It'll be awesome, please believe me!!

Edit- I've been a forum goer for years. This site is hyper active compared to others I've joined. I'm sure that if we get a Fanfiction sub-forum it'll grow and have tons of good reads.

I have two fanfics that I'm dying to post, I just don't want them to get swallowed up in Forum Games or some other forum. With this site being focused on retro gaming, it's perfect to have Fanfiction.

And not only Fanfiction, but Roleplaying as well. Please mods, hear my plea...

We can absolutely have a FF category, but not within the Writer's Guild -- that one is exclusively for posting articles and reviews, which get published on the front page of the site.

I'm very much onboard with this idea and see a lot of potential to it, just not quite the way it's been proposed.

Where else besides the Writer's Guild would it fit, though? I know the main forum is for sitely posts, it's just the actual name of it (Writer's Guild) that's throwing me off...

How about this... what if it gets it's own category labelled as: Fanfiction/Roleplay

That way it combines both into one and it doubles the fun? (ha! that rhymed!)

It could get its own category under General Discussion or something.

One of my sites is for book discussion, but we have both a fanfiction board and an RP board in there because people wanted them that badly and we created them away from the main boards, but still making them visible and accessible for anyone wanting to hop right in, which is not possible to do with the Writer's Guild -- membership (and, therefore, posting rights) are given by approval and placing them there would slow everything down to a crawl.

I know this is still a new forum, and in the past year I've seen it pick up a lot of steam (you guys are doing something right, it's impressive) I just want to be a part of it, I guess. Writing is really fun, especially when other people read what you've come up with and they like it. The praise is awesome!

If the mods make a sub-forum for Fanfiction/Roleplay, I'll definitely contribute! A lot!

There's already a ton of avenues gamers can go through here to have a good time, I just really love writing and wanna see more fun being had! If it happens, it happens! (and if it does happens, prepare for awesomeness)

As it’s been already pointed out, an FF section would be fantastic and help the forum thrive, but I’m not quite onboard with it being in the WG. The WG isn’t just any subforum, your posts show up on the front page so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to have FFs there, since as a longtime forum user myself, I always saw those as a side activity, and not the main selling point of the forum.

Still, there’s definitely a lot to discuss and flesh out, and I’d be more than happy to lend an ear.
