I been working on same game projects and will share updates here.

Currently I am focused on creating 3D game assets in Blender, Here is some samples of recent work.

The truck will be used in a shmup game Im working on. The spaceship was a study on hard surface modeling techniques in 3D.

What is game about it?car design.dont forget to optimize modles for game project.
Detail on spaceship is great!I can see the holes on the cannons.
you work with unity or something else?
If it is a free start project you can model resourceser site for speed up.

The truck will be a destructible stage game object / prop. I like the process of 3D modeling and want to create all the 3d models. Im using Unity I made some games at @ https://ninneko.itch.io/

Looking good! I like the spaceship especially (I'm a sucker for sandbox space games).

Awesome stuff, my friend!

You caught my attention with the truck and blew my mind off with the spaceship! Quite a banger you’re cooking here!

So what are these projects you're making these models for?
Care to elaborate on it or is it too early for you to say?

Im making a arcade style shmup game. The truck will be a destructible background object. The spaceship wont be in this game but was a study that turned out well. I can use the same techniques to make turret guns or something. Eventually it will be done enough to share some prototype gameplay videos.

Thanks! Just looked into Septerra Core now it looks really cool. Gonna give it a try.

It's a neat artifact of its time (very much a "Japanime" RPG) and has a pretty neat world and characters/concepts, but it has unfortunately not aged well gameplay-wise. There are some mods to make it more playable that I would look into if you really want to give it a shot. Otherwise, might be one of those games you'd best just watch on YouTube.

Good idea. I never understood watching games until recently when i learned I could do game dev or art while watching youtube

Yeah it's a great way to experience games that are either difficult to install/play on modern systems, or those that have good aesthetics/story but gameplay that sucks (or that you just don't personally want to put yourself through).

Slow updates my normal job got kinda busy but still moving forward slowly. Here is a game character painted and ready for animation
This looks awesome man! Just curious but what resources or videos in particular did you use in order to learn how to make 3d assets in blender? I always wanted to dive into 3D but never really committed as hard as 2D.

One thing I like to do is put multiple longplay videos on a 2nd monitor and get that loud arcade experience

Thanks! Im mostly a programmer so art was quite a journey for me and Im still learning. I started 3D with Blender like 20 years ago but wasnt very good and gave up many times. These days the software and tutorials on youtube are better than ever. Also I spent a ton of time doing 2D art during MiiVerse and that helped a ton too.

This account on youtube is really good

Also another big help is gamedev.tv Picked up a tutorial bundle on humble bundle.

This looks sick actually! I wanted to get into more blender things especially since college is around the corner for me so I’m going to learn as much as I can before then.

unsolicited suggestions if you're interested in PS1-esque modeling:

More technical explanations of PS1 graphics helpful for max "authenticity" of models that are not literally rendered by the PS1:

Would also just suggest that you try out the Intro to Blender type tutorials (like the one where you make a donut) just to learn the program.

Also, if you're interested in very basic lowpoly, check out Crocotile, a simple and amazingly intuitive little program with a heroic dev who makes tons of tutorial videos and great documentation for it:

Blender is a great program its worth learning. Im very thankful for open source software because in the past it would costs thousands of $ to get started in 3D but not anymore.
