Does this Metal Slug 3d work correctly? The stand alone copy doesn't. It's almost impossible to get into a Metal Slug and when I do, I can only turn left, lol.

Yeah but if these changes made it the 'only version playable' then we should reduce every franchise to a single game and delete all the others from the Repo lol.
Also no one plays those games in competition anymore, so it doesn't matter. It's just fun to play every game in a series even though some are more refined than the others.

Well the issue is that these games were very poorly received, and for good reason. It took them 3 entries to finally work out how to make a decent 3D game, and it was too late. And people should know the 3rd game fixes the problems because a very very very very very very large percentage of people are going to start with the first game and say "Holy fucking shit this sucks ass" then drop the sub series and never touch the sequels.

It's not the same.

Massive balance overhaul. new frame data, damage adjustments, move changes. Infinite combos, overly safe attacks, and other abusive tactics from MI2 were removed. Cancels, juggles, guard mechanics, and movement were refined, making matches feel more deliberate and skill-based. the characters don't feel like they have a stick up their ass any more. It was made for arcades and ended up being the only one that is competitively viable.

Larger roster too.

Regulation A improved a lot over 2 and made it a decent game. it's the only one worth playing

It does have a 3vs3 system but gameplay is basically the same as MI2. Also it lacks a Story Mode, so it's a little more nuanced than that.
