Kirby's Adventure (NES) how to change the "float" button from pressing up to pressing A?

In the first few Kirby games you had to press up to make Kirby inhale some air to float (A can still make you go up while in this state) yet I feel that it's less intuitive once you're used to the button A like in the rest of the series.


PS: I'd also like to know if it would still be compatible with the "input lag fix" hack as well.

This is something that had annoyed me in the past, but I hadn't given it much thought lately. I decided to sit down and see how hard it would be to create my own mod to do this. Turns out, it's very simple, just a single byte needs to be changed. I haven't tried it with that other mod, but I'd be willing to be they'd be compatible.

I created an .ips patch file to make the change, but I'm not sure where the best place to upload things is anymore. Is RHDN still accepting submissions?

Me neither because Kirby's Dream Land on the Gameboy doesn't have a "very vertical" level design and the lack of ability makes it more convenient to just do air puffs.

It works greatly with the Input Fix hack (and with the overclock option from Mesen it's the ultimate way to enjoy the game).

This game alone i mostly double tapped up just to float my kirby in every kirby game that i played lol.
