Has anyone, during their trails came across a game you didn't think much of when you first played it. But give time it's due respect, it traipses right back into your life, like an old friend who knocks on your door on a winter's night offering firewood for your cozy fireplace to rekindle not only a lost connection, but to open your eyes to something new that night?
Kaze no Notam did that for me.
That mystical, alluring and charming demeanour that bewitches all as if it was fate.
To me, I think the best way to define or describe this cover to me personally is the feeling of magic. A spell is woven unto me with every single time I look into it. Fascination would grip me many a time looking at this game.
From the farthest gusts too is a fantasia of sound.
A vapor seeps in through your dim-lit room like the senses of a sea-breeze.
It's a tropical paradise, and this was your premium departure. The ticket was already cut and you feel your eyes crumble to the appealing notion of nodding off to the sensation of the waves.
It's so metaphysical you could believe it's a dream. Did we all imagine this game existed and thus, it began it's birth? Or was it always there in the shape of a hot-air balloon who aimed to be the master of the skies? They who float above us which whimsically and intrinsically become the currents of the winds themselves. Their inflamed gusto which acts as our conventional steering wheel. How high we are, does it determine the path we take in life?
Or so such, this is only your navigator speaking. Listen to that wind once again and tell me how you truly feel about the air, the wind and where your destination lies.
Or have you no destination and aimlessly travel to distant lands anon?
You my friend are the pilot of a hot-air balloon and fate finally whispers to you.
It's time to boot up Kaze no Notam, or otherwise known as Notam of Wind.
What is "Notam"?
I honestly could not tell you. Creators of this dreamlike experience nary said a word and as if a hidden gust in your room, vanished amongst the currents itself.
Notam is our personal view and interpretation.
Notam could very well be that same wind blowing amidst our face right now.
Without further ado, let's soar the skies.
A menu greets us. A backdrop of our lives alongside a feeling of latent curiosity. Such interesting glyphs await us in all four corners and yet we may never discern their true intention. As if entering Babylon itself . . .
While we get ourselves integrated into our new utopia, let's try a task and land into a target with our courier balloon.
The game then asks us to pick a starting point. How curious ... That black fog which encompasses our goal bars our entry, so we can enter this world any way we wish around its perimeter.
Our Departure begins, a paradise of colours immediately greet us as we set forth on our maiden voyage.
Isn't weather a fickle thing? We've endeavoured into a rainy sunset. We can choose our conditions and soundtrack to accompany our odyssey before the mission starts.
We control our ascent with the Triangle button, which then upon release of this we gradually sink further to the Earth's very core.
There's some things we need to take into account.
First, it's that gauge to the bottom. That is our fuel, our hearth. Like all passions it can gradually fade away over time. So let's enjoy it to the fullest.
Secondly, on the right there be arrows pointing in a myriad of directions. See that small balloon symbol and the one that is slightly more aglow compared to the rest? That dictates our current height. Then we go in that same direction on our map.
That is our loop, or romantically, our samsara. Shall we be carressed by our blind faith of where the wind may take us in a few moments, or dare to take command of fate itself and figure out a trick to all of it? That's up to us to decide. The captain of our very own hot-air balloon.
I thank you, lovely reader for sitting through me as I soared aflutter into new heights.
Did you play Kaze no Notam? I anticipate your thoughts and impressions as always in this thread ~
