Lately, I've been hearing and noticed more and more K-Pop music (Korean-language pop music). There seem to be more and more music bands coming from South Korea. The selection has become really large now. The music is nice and great for dancing. What do you all think about this genre of music?

!!!What's really important for me and will probably also apply to future threads I'll create, is that anyone who has something to say should say it in a civilized manner and not like a Neanderthal who gets upset about something pointless because it doesn't work. I will not tolerate such behavior and will report it immediately. Thank you!!!

Honestly....I've never been the biggest Kpop fan. Tried super hard to get into 2PM when I was a teenager bc of Blue Exorcist (I've recently listened to them again though). I do respect some of the groups I tried listening to (mostly 2nd gen groups) back when I was in school but I could never really touch anything after 3rd gen, because boy can Kpop fans be TOXIC asf. (and they still are!)

That said, here are some of my favorites.

I'm not exactly a fan of them either but I find it a refreshing mix in the music industry.

I have listened to kpop on and off for years. Still remember when Gangnam Style came out or when every girl I knew was gushing over BTS. Recently I became much more of a serious fan and even went to my first concert at the beginning of the year. Honestly, Kpop is amazing. But it's also extremely different from the western music industry.

They have been consistently growing over the past decades and a huge chunk of fans are international, they have started to lean into that demographic pretty heavily in the last few years.

What groups or artists do you like? It's a pretty saturated industry and I still have problems keeping up with everything, but I can only recommened looking through channels like Studio Choom to get a sense of what's out there, especially if you like watching the performances.

I like Blackpink and BTS is okay too. The song that BTS made with Coldplay is awesome.
