Oh, this was a delight.

Not only wasn't I expecting to see any of these characters ever again, but it feels like the writers and showrunners really did their best to pay homage to all these different, legendary juggernauts (down to their lore and theme songs!). I was absolutely charmed by this whole thing in a way that nostalgia-grabbing modern media had done its best to make me forget was even possible.

There's also something to be said about the original VAs reprising their roles to perfection, as if they were just coming back to the recording booth after a break, rather than resuming something that had been canned decades ago. It's as if playing these characters was second nature to them, and that fills my kid-self (and, okay, my adult-self, too) with indescribable joy.

This is just wholesome, man.

Oh, they are in the episode (along with some 30 other characters), they just didn't get something to say.

Quite a lot of the episode is blink-and-you-miss-it cameos from characters like Courage the Cowardly Dog and even Robot Jones.

I haven't seen this episode, but I did see the earlier one with Space Ghost characters, and I thought it was quite respectful of them while still being rather funny. For what it's worth, it was the last time we'd ever hear George Lowe reprise Space Ghost, and I think both he and the Brak guy did a very good job. (I did not expect a direct reference to The Brak Show, but I certainly appreciated it.) The new Zorak voice isn't very good, but then nobody could replace C. Martin Croker. Moltar was actually done quite well. (I strongly doubt they'll ever bring back Space Ghost, Moltar, or Zorak again.)

I actually follow one of the creative designers on this show, Yotam Perel, on YouTube – he's an old Newgrounds Flash animator, and I'd been very familiar with his personality via the Wisenheimers podcast which he co-hosted. I kind of see that millennial internet-y personality coming through in Jellystone – it kinda looks like a Newgrounds Flash cartoon parody, doesn't it? I think that's an interesting take on Hanna-Barbera characters for one show. (Though, of course, I don't want these to become the new "prime" versions of the characters, but I don't think they will be.)

My problem with Jellystone is that I've actually had other versions of those characters deeply defined in my mind, and seeing them on a show like this kind of mentally makes me feel like I'm watching a "spinoff babies" show, like Muppet Babies or Baby Looney Tunes. I can no mentally separate Peter Potamus from how the character was portrayed in Harvey Birdman, for example, and seeing him as a completely different character on this show really weirds me out. I'm kind of against these characters constantly having their personalities change every single time we see them, but I guess it's inoffensive enough. I hear tell that Jellystone is now over, so I suppose for three seasons it was worth a shot.
