Incredibly 1994 cover art, I like it. Now I need to listen to that "free cd music sampler".
I always mostly ignored sports games, so despite being very familiar with the Genesis library somehow, there's still games I've never come across somehow.

Here's a short review of the free cd that came with the game. It was 6 songs from albums that came out on Virgin Records around that time, 4 rock songs and 2 rap song. Some of them were mildly successful at the time, but none made it all that big.
Shyheim - Pass It Off
Shyheim was a child rapper affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. No RZA production on this though, the beat is unmemorable boom bap. Wikipedia claims he was 17, but that's hard to believe, as he sounds and looks 11. Luckily there's 3 more rappers on this, from another lesser-known Wu-affiliated group, GP Wu. They're alright. Pretty average early '90s NY rap.
College Boyz - Run Dance Hall
Rap with a dancehall element, as the title implies. College Boyz didn't really catch any attention at the time. I remember from another better song, but this is pretty weak. One of them became an actor with a pretty successful career. He was in 40-Year Old Virgin.
Brother Cane - Hard Act to Follow
This is supposed to be '70s-style southern rock, but to me this particular song sounds like Pearl Jam. Not bad but nothing special.
Gilby Clarke - Cure Me... Or Kill Me
That guy played rhythm guitar for Guns 'N Roses for 3 years. This is old-fashioned '80s-style hard rock, not my style at all.
Cracker - Get Off This
Middle-of-the-road 'mid-'90s rock, neither soft nor hard. A little bland but kind of catchy.
The Auteurs - Lenny Valentino
I like the composition, but the singer is really quiet and I can't hear him, which is too bad as this could have been the best song on there.
All in all, a very 6/10 compilation. If I'd got it for free at the time, I might have listened to it now and then, since tapes and CDs were expensive. But I can see why no one here really blew up.
Holy shit, this somehow evaded my childhood and I just now learned about this lol. This has to be the only basketball game I never played on the Genesis.
I remember Seanbaby doing a hilarious piece on some Basketball game that had some wonderful lines like “Catch you downstreet timepants!” I’ll have to track that one down.
Ah I found it, was White Men Can’t Jump for the Jaguar haha
This one flew under my radar back in the day. First I've heard of it. It looks good. It reminds me of Jordan vs Bird One on One and Double Dribble for some reason. Thx for upload
