I was super excited for iisu, loved the look of it. That Nintendo Wii/Wii U aesthetic really resonated with me. But then the discord situation happened. I ain't gonna act like we all haven't said some wild stuff in our life, but being the poster boy of an up and coming emulation front-end and using a discord that you used to shoot-the-shit with the homies was a rookie mistake. Some advice for anyone working on any type of project that involves the internet. What you post will stay forever. If you know you have said some things that wouldn't fly in today's online ecosystem (whether it was a joke or not), then I wouldn't recommend putting your face or internet identity out there without being prepared.

There was something my stepfather always told me whenever I got in trouble. He said "If you are going to do something stupid, then at least do it right". Usagishade should have prepared a lot better. Simply creating a new discord for the iisu project would have saved him (or at least kept his past posts hidden for a bit longer). I think he just got a little too excited with the project and kinda rushed the discord out.

I do hope that the current iisu team is able to deliver in the future. Would hate to see the project crash and burn.

The funny thing is, UsagiShade didn’t say anything wrong: the ones talking nonsense were people he left behind during his life. Sure, it wasn’t smart to reuse his personal friends’ server, but the folks who spent hours digging through all the chat logs? They’re not good in the head. I mean, who’s going to read that much text? It was like four years’ worth of logs, completely insane. Honestly, those drama-chasing people can do their thing, but I'd rather sink 100 hours into Monster Hunter than waste 10 hours doomscrolling through a Discord server chat log.
"Canceling" that Usagi dude for that is so dumb. They just crippled iiSU as a project. Without Usagi, iiSU is like the Patriots without Brady or Barça without Messi.

Yeah, I feel like the people who were purposely digging for posts didn't actually care about anything. They probably didn't even care about what Usagi said. Some people just want to watch others fall for their own entertainment or ego.

I feel if the current iisu team can stick to the original design and concept, they might be able to pull it off. It's gonna take a whole lotta work.
