There is a new game coming out, I think it is for PC, it is called Beta Decay. Its engine borrows its whole visual library from PS1 era graphics and although it is a commercial title, I cannot lie and pretend that my nostalgia doesn't tick. There is also this hoverbike game, I played the demo on Steam and you can see its not just graphics but the whole concept, of diving the player right in the game and having a skill based intention around the multiplayer, is very refreshing. I know I cant expect a lot from commercial titles, but I think the realistic graphics destroy that part of our brain that imagines things and this is why we are having issues with the low stimulation of modern games. I think some games benefit from realistic graphics, but when we leave the whole ludic part to a CPU instead of our own brains, we are setting ourselves up.
