It might sound bold, but we’ve never gotten to enjoy a truly phenomenal strategy RPG.

There are tons of turn-based strategy RPGs out there, and you’ll also come across a decent number of real-time or hybrid-style ones.
On top of that, 4X RPGs—those games where you explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate—have a solid presence too, and there are even a handful of strategy RPGs with quirky, one-of-a-kind combat systems, though they’re not as common. But here’s the kicker: a game in the vein of Ogre Battle, packing both awesome vibration support and full-on voice acting—something that would make it absolutely mind-blowing—has never seen the light of day.
Not once, not ever!Unicorn Overlord came this close to being that jaw-dropping strategy RPG we’ve been dreaming of, but—alas—it’s missing the vibration feature, so it didn’t quite make the cut.
So, in the end, we’ve never had the chance to dive into a strategy RPG that’s truly next-level amazing. And why’s that? Because nothing like it has ever been released, duh! LOL

I think this is the first time I've ever seen anyone actually care about vibration features in games.
The vibration function is very fantastic.
The specific actions of the game or the specific actions of the character
The sense of unity that seems to be uniting!!
In strategic RPGs, these vibrations can be seen at every critical moment in each direction
It is like the eye of a dragon in the painting that makes it shine.

Don't feel bad about it, I pick games based on the Japanese voice cast so you not the only weird ones here.
What's a game that has reached or came the closest to perfect by your standard?

I think vibration ruins games more than it elevates them. It was neat 25 years ago but now it just scares me by jolting my hands. I almost always disable it.

That being said, I think the new Tactics Ogre remake was phenomenal.

It's a game with a different meaning
In a way, it feels like doing oger Battle
'Last remnant'
But it's not 'ogre battle like'
And
Ogre battle saturn version.

Probably the funniest block of text I've ever read in relation to SRPGs. Don't take this the wrong way, but as someone with an autistic brother, I think you might be autistic.
I am a Korean gamer
I am writing with a Papago translation function.
Maybe if you feel autistic
It may be due to the performance of the translation tool.

I can understand vibration feature being important and elevating in simulation and action games, but SRPGs? Really?
::thinking

genuinely didn't mean anything by it man, my honest thoughts was that this post both by content and style looked hilarious

Ogre Battle, Super Robot Wars, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics are just some of the amazing SRPGs ive played for years. One of my favorite genre. Heck even the series Ultima was a tactics style Rpg(never got into it) and it existed before the nes....

Not my cup of tea sort of genre i like more real time stuff especially strategy its why i never got into chess.

I did play Final Fantasy tactics and one of my biggest complaints are the grind like hot diggity dog (thanks yousef for making this stuck on repeat in my head) everytime you recruit a new fella they are level 1 like damn....

Personally, the idea of a game like Advance Wars or Fire Emblem just vibrating whenever a unit is hit/goes down would freak me the fuck out

SRPG Horror games with motion control when?

Fire emblem radiant have that kind of vibrating function
There was, but I loved it, too.

Looks like someone didnt play HoMM3
Of course, my spent a considerable amount of time on HOMM3
There is a past.
But if the vibration function was richly supported in such games
It really must have been a lot of fun.

I think you just have some odd requirements for what should count as a truly phenomenal strategy rpg. I don't need vibrations or voice acting to consider a game phenomenal. Great gameplay and story and graphics are enough imo.

That said Hot take I think FF Tactics isn't that great >.>

Aside from the Psycho Mantis battle in Metal Gear Solid 1, I've never seen a use of the vibration feature that really mattered to me in a game.

This might be the best gaming take i have ever read. Never in my life would have expected to see anyone saying an SRPGS would be the best if it had a VIBRATION FUNCTION. This is amazing. Thanks dude, your post just made my day, because is not ragebaiting or a stupid take, it's just so weird that i love it. Hope you find your game.

I would highly recommend you check out Jagged Alliance 2, my personal favorite game of all time. It has 100s of weapons, an open world with side quests, fun characters that have different ways of interacting with each other and 4x elements that are really tightly integrated. The game is the deepest I have ever played, which results in every thing you do feeling like it makes sense.

If you want a helicopter, you need to take over the airport, and get rid of any anti-air missle bases in the area you wish to fly. If you want to get money you take over a diamond mine.

The only thing that might not be for you is its not "J" RPG at all, and is instead inspired by American action movies like Commando and Soldier of Fortune Magazine. There's still quite a few cartoonish larger than life characters though.

Bruh my favorites game is an srpg
I played DeSu three times I think without counting DeSu 2
It's really just a matter of taste
Oh and I hate vibration always off for me

Yeah, I love vibration but a lack thereof disqualifying a strategy game of all things from being phenomenal is a bit of a headscratcher. Though, come to think of it, having the controller rumble violently when you get fucked over by RNG (say, missing despite an 80% chance to hit) would be a great gimmick. Perhaps OP is on to something here.

I've always wanted them to use the feature for puzzle solving but I imagine it would be too frustrating for the majority of players. I quite liked the idea of the controller responding with feedback to determine whether or not you're doing something correctly, like lockpicking or if abilities react in a very specific way to your commands. There are so many features modern consoles (and controllers) have but they're very rarily utilized. The Dualshock 4 picking up sound in Alien Isolation is probably the last I can think of that actually had a meaningful impact, that game makes you panic. And forcing yourself to be quiet so you don't draw the Alien closer was great.
