Personally, never been a Funko Pop! fan so let's get that out of the way. Only Pops I own are a WWE Mankind one that happened to be included with a Mankind lunchbox, a G.I. Destro one that came with a blind box I happened upon at a thrift store and a Dora Milaje Pop! that was in one of those thrift store toy bags. Only other stuff Funko that I have is the Turbo Man "doll" re-release they were licensed to do a couple years ago as the original company Tiger Electronics no longer exists(still want a Talkboy smh) and a Funko figure of Ryu that I found for cheap some years ago that I almost sold.

That being said, it is interesting to hear the news of the company filing for bankruptcy and tbh I'm not surprised. Toy industry in general has this habit of doing too much where these companies either over extend themselves with licenses or produces way too much of a product that no longer moves like it used to. Funko Pops are all over Gamestops, another company in dire straits even though they wont admit it and you have to beg the question of if those Pops actually sell. Full walls of Funkos that never seem to shrink. Then you get to the discount stores which are my domain. Go to any Ross, TJ Maxx, Burlington, etc and you will find them, some with a handful, others with a ton and the ton is usually in greater number during the holiday season. Ollie's is pretty much the same. And that's not just Funko, don't wanna single them out in all this cuz McFarlane DC Multiverse figs would pop up a lot in those places aside from Ollie's and Ollie's is FLOODED with Hasbro Black Panther & Eternals figs to this day with me noticing EVEN MORE Black Panther inventory on the way. It would be one thing for some of these to pop up seasonally or randomly but they are always there. Toy Industry just produce way too much and the current economic situation globally has some of them reining themselves in(while also jacking up the prices).

McFarlane lost the DC license and a company like Jazwares even though they won't admit it is poised to lose the AEW license. These companies are failing in different ways. And I almost forgot about Funko Fusion. I wouldn't be surprised if that had a lot to do with how they needed to file for bankruptcy as the game was weak & only appeal to people into Funko, no one bought it with the game originally costing $60, and they needed a ton of licenses for it to even be published. idk I think a lot of these companies either lose focus, doing too much or being too lazy and all of it got them shooting themselves in the foot.

Living through the Funko craze, I always felt they were just the Beanie Babies of a new generation. I'm not surprised people got burnt out on samey-looking figures made by the hundreds once the fad wore off.

Never been a fan of Funko, never took a second glance at 'em anyway

I'd rather have Nendoroid

My brother gave me a Frieza one I cherish because it was a gift from him, and a friend gave me a Dan Hibiki one, which I cherish because it was a gift from him.
They’re cute enough but I agree, never really got the hype.

Idk who said it but someone said you buy statues for the character, but you buy funkos for the funko, and that kinda stuck with me.
