Cartoons Is Winx Club actually GOATED?

I feel like winx club could have been the western sailor moon if western producers hadn't just cut out (not even considered) the lesbians and other queer representation from the show. But that's just my opinion. Nonetheless it's been always something pretty much embraced by the queer community among the general audience and I also think it was a remarkable thing from my childhood lol

Tarzan and the Super 7? I heard of that before.
No, I'm talking about a TV channel. All I remember from it is some sort of transitional animation it showed between shows and ads. It was the logo of the channel (an orange 7) swooping into view on a green background with some weird saxophone tune.
Edit: I did some research and it turns out that channel was aired only in my country. It also shut down in september 2016

Ah, seemed short-lived.

I lost interest in that and W.I.T.C.H. so fast. I felt the same with the Legend of Korra. Had great promise until whatever was going on in the story made zero sense. Then the ending felt forced, almost like it was pandering, complete disappointment right up there with Samurai Jack.

I can't remember watching this one, but I probably would've if I had cable at the time it aired. I always liked action heavy cartoonish stuff that had badass cyborg chics or fae or foxy ladies or whatever the hell a Zafara (a cutesy cross between a chinchilla and a kangaroo, I guess?) was supposed to be in Neopets. Not just because of some weird waifu quality that some of them had for me before waifus even became a thing in the west, but because it was more unique and cool to play Claire, Jill, Ada and Alyssa in Resident Evil, Krystal in Star Fox or Maj. Kusanagi in GiTS on the PSOne.

Especially in the sea of macho dudes like Serious Sam and Duke Nukem (which admittedly are the best examples of the Macho Badass Action Hero archetype that was common in games at the time) or generic military or exmilitary spec ops space marine dudes, of which only John Mullins, Solid Snake, Naked Snake/Big Boss and of course the Master Chief that broke the mold and really stuck with me. Also, in MCs case Cortana did all the talking. Even when it came to physical toys like dolls and "action figures" I would routinely mix in Barbies, Neopet plushies, Hot Wheels and GI Joe's in with each other, while also using ones that had been zombified and given the "Maximum Overdrive Automation Transfusion" came up with that name for the back into service after dying heroically for the EDF, MegaKorp or Neopia or whatever kiddie shared universe faction I thought up to fight the still living heroes.

[1]yes, I came up with that name after drinking way too much Mountain Dew X and binge watching Maximum Overdrive, Mad Max, Doomsday, 28 Weeks Later, The Terminator 1-3 and a number of other more obscure films like a French zombie one I can't even remember the name of, and then going in my room and playing Xbox, N64 and PS2 until I crashed at 6AM. Also, Mountain Dew X is like the most Aughties name for an energy drink ever.

Yes, and the comics too, but honestly only up to season 3/4. After that everything gets a bit nonsensical and... well... There's a comic that features them playing soccer, as a soccer team. Yes, it gets weird. Stick to the first 3/4 seasons lol

The comics are available online in english for free. Is not like there is any other way to read them unless you go out to buy the old magazines.

Man, that takes me back...

Winx was one of those "girly shows boys watched but would never admit". I was one of them.

Can't say I remember much but I know it was good enough to hold my attetion and look foward for the next episode. It had an relative success here in Brazil and is well remembered and form what I heard form friends, Winx is still fondly rememberd show by LGBTQ+ crowd around these parts.

Winx had enough popularity that their theme song had an funk remix.
If anything has an funk remix/version, then most certanly it had popularity in Brazil.

EUI love the Winx Club that I watched as a child, even though I'm a man now.
There were a lot of cartoons I just shook my head on if not shrugged at. I grew up on Rainbow Brite, Noozles, Wuzzles, The Get Along Gang, Care Bears, and whatever else between the mecha I grew up on. Winx Club, and Totally Spies! just gave me an eyebrow. W.I.T.C.H. was okay though.

A person I followed on twitter is not only a Winx Fan, but also Italian so they're a diehard fan of it. From what I've learned of them, Winx Club takes a lot of inspiration from a lot of older anime whose titles I can't remember off the top of my head, but it's in the 80s range of anime. Even then, the show is worth your time if you are interested in checking it out.

It definitely had magic girl vibes to be sure

That show was a large part of my childhood and it was pretty good from what I recall. Man, my 2nd youngest sister and I used to watch the new episodes everytime they premiered on Nick back circa 2012-2014.
The major consensus online seems to be that only seasons 1-4 and the 1st movie were good and practically everything after has been a major nosedive in quality to say the least.
And speaking of Winx Club and Nick, I've been trying to find some interstitial that Nick aired back circa 2013-2015 which was the first 2 minutes or so of Season 5 Episode 3 "Return to Alfea" but annotated with bubbles containing facts á la VH1's Pop-Up Video. However, unlike Pop-Up Video, they were fake facts that Nick themselves made up. And I recall one of them was that Wanda from the Fairly Oddparents used to attend Alfea and got expelled for messing up the toilets. It has been a personal white whale of mine for years now so if anybody here has it, then please send it to me via DM/PM or email.

BTW, the title of the interstitial went something along the lines of "A Clip of Winx Club But With Fake Facts"

I don't remember that fake fact thing for Winx Club, but I have seen one for an old My Little Pony video. Weirdest thing is that it was an officially made and released video, too
So "fake fact" pop-up videos are definitely a thing
