Cartoons Is Winx Club actually GOATED?

Hello folks, back in the early to mid 2000s I was a big Cartoon and Anime kid, DBZ, Pokemon, Inuyasha, Spongebob etc. the usual stuff you watch as a lil guy.
I judged shows like Winx Club, Totally Spies, W.I.T.C.H etc. as shows for (eww) girls and surely they must be bad if they are for (eww) girls.

As I grew older and got access to the internet I realized alotta dudes watched shows like that too, especially Sailor Moon so I thought "Hey, if it airs sometime I watch it, seems cool enough".
So I did watch Sailor Moon 1st season recently and it was quite GOATED indeed, haven´t watched more of it since though but I´m interested (Mercury best girl).

Now for the titular Winx Club, I´ve seen that it´s quite up and rising again thanks to Netflix, which brought my attention back to it.
What peeked my interest even more is that my Google Timeline earlier today gave me the article "The 6 Winx Fairies, Power ranking"...POWER RANKING?! IN WINX CLUB?! CAN WINX BEAT SUPERMAN?
And the screenshots made it look like they use 10th grade black magic of doom destruction to crush their enemies.

So I haven´t seen it and my question is, should I bother? Or is that one really mainly targeted for young girls?

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure it's on YouTube for free. Or most of it is. So you could always check out the first few episodes and see how you go. I liked it more than I thought I would

Eh if you like it, watch it. That's all that matters. No one's opinion on whether you should or shouldn't watch the show matters..... they are irrelevant. As I said, if you enjoy it, watch it. It's like My Little Pony, Barbie, G.I. Joe, etc., etc., etc.

As a kid, i always watched that kind of hybrid action-girls shows, like powerpuff girls and winx, but for some reason it never flew through my mind "this is show for girls only that I will not watch because i'm a MAN". Sadly I can't say the same from my teenage years where I was an stupid metalhead that only listened to the most generic ass boring metal that I could and It was "the real good music" that existed. I find it funny

Honestly, a lot of the italian/french animated series were so good they deserve all the respect they earned. I really liked Huntik and then we have the massive hit thaat was Code Lyoko.

No idea honestly. When that show first came out, I was way out of the target demographic they were aiming to sell toys to.

I thought Witch was a thousand times better (and I had a crush on the main girl), but I remember friends liking Winx Club. I remember thinking it was really ugly and that was usually enough to make me not watch something.

In 2020, I actually watched the first three episodes of Winx Club's original version, which is free on YouTube. Honestly, I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it. I'd happily watch the next episodes, but due to YouTube's wretched AI surveillance (sic 'em, Fight for the Future) and Netflix's dumb rules of main accounts on different hubs, I don't think I'll be watching it. Shame too, Iginio Straffi's fairy heroines are some of the best western examples of magical girls out there (even being cosplayed by girl group Katseye in a halloween dance video for their song "Touch"), and I can't watch the rest of their exploits at the moment due to corpo skulduggery!

Tell me about it. At least the concept of combining YA drama with magical girl action is timeless and doesn't bring in vapid tiktok Users.

A lot of that was going on during that time so if that's your time, go for it. Hell, I found some good ones like Martin Mystery, sort of reminds me of the old Plastic Man cartoons since it had that partial comedic mystery vibe going for itself. Another I tried to watch were the reboots of Flash Gordon and Phantom. I saw what they were doing to those franchises but liked the Filmation version of Flash better. And as for Phantom, I give 'em credit, Phantom was one of those series that could ONLY be remembered if you grew up watching Defenders of the Earth. I wouldn't call Winx Club GOAT material, it was fine for what it had going for itself but that's it. It didn't overstay its welcome and when it ended, it ended. Lot of those cartoons were around, but they were just niche.

It was kinda too girly for mem i only watched it since when it aired it was before Camp Lazlo, nowadays, i simply don't care, but it had to do something right ro be considered for a Live Action Remake

I remember watching it as a kid on a TV channel that doesn't even exist anymore (or at least I think Super 7 doesn't exist anymore) and one time in Russian class for some reason. I don't remember anything from the story but the animation is very good (I'm a sucker for 2000s cartoons so make your own assumptions)
