Is there any Arcade Emulation

Do you wish to play anything in specific?

If you have a Windows PC, you have many options, some more generic and others more specific.
MAME allows you to play many different things, but has bad user interface. You have also Retroarch. It doesn't have the best user interface in the world either, but I think it's a bit friendlier. You can easily install MAME cores in Retroarch.
Here is something specific. If you like late 90s Sega games, you have this one https://www.supermodel3.com

Note: You must have all the files to emulate an Arcade game. This site has information about the games, if they are playable or not and about the files required. http://adb.arcadeitalia.net/default.php

MAME, but also Fightcade is cool if you want to play with other people. There's quite a few active fighting games on there, I use it to mostly play JoJo Heritage for the Future, but there are also beat em ups, shmups, everything and anything from MOST systems. Most, not all. It now supports NES as well I think, there's some fun co-op games and hacks on there too.
Editing since you mentioned Metal Slug specifically, Fightcade has all of them I believe and you can even play with friends. Its a lot more fun that way.

I respect your subjectivity and personal preference but IMO Metal Slug ports in various video game consoles are okay ports. I play them on my PS2 just fine. I wrote it so you won't feel like you're necessarily stuck in arcade emulation. Just sayin'.

MAME and FBNeo (on Retroarch) are both valid. Retroarch is a bit more user friendly: I use it on my tablet with FBNeo core and play tons of arcade games without problems.
Anyway, if you want to just play Metal Slug, like "valosagutas" said you can easily find a lot of great ports :->

The Repo has many ports. Do you need help setting up an emulator?

M.A.M.E. would be the most logical choice if you aim for the most accurate 1:1 arcade replica of the game for home use.
However, as others have pointed out, there are indeed home ports that are highly faithful to the arcade versions. For example, Metal Slug Anthology for the PSP is exceptionally well ported.

Not the Wii and/or PS2 home ports?

I recommend Finalburn Neo if you're going to play alone, Fightcade (PC) if you're going to play online, I think it uses MAME

i'm on team Final Burn Neo
but i also have the metal slug anthology for ps 2 emulator PCSX2

FBNeo generally. Is bit more playable. MAME for some rare stuff like some PS1 and such hardware games. I think Dancing Eyes is playable only with MAME (and likely a beefy machine). Naomi and Atomiswave, so the two arcade brothers to Dreamcast would go with Flycast, or at least I personally do.
But yeah, NeoGeo is very well understood and emulated machine, emulates generally well even on low powered devices.

Arcade emulation *IS* quite involved for sure though. You got to find "the right romset" as they are updated as emulators are updated and standards change like cleaner emulation of suicide battery games for example, and currently forum rules prohibit pointing out with links to something like a roms megathread that might have links to the romsets. Usually emulator UI for MAME or FBNeo identifies the games by their name so keeping the weird names such as "mslug.zip" is crucial for operation. If you do need more clarification or help hit us up we slap you back.

Yeah. CD might be bit easier for "operating" the ROM files. Downside is the loading times with NeoGeoCD. Arcade is not quite like emulating a late 80's Japanese PC but it is not the easiest stuff for a newbie or someone who takes things casually to work out easily. Took it's own time with me. At least emulators these days tell you if something is wrong with the ROM files and tells how it is. I might remember wrong a time when even that was left to user to figure out.
