Help Is there a specific SNES emulator to play FastROM on it?

Maybe I didn't notice but I haven't felt a big difference when I played F-zero with a FastROM on BSNES HD but then again F-zero hardly had slowdowns.
I'm curious why you chose bsnes-hd? Have you tried out this stand alone fork @ https://tanalin.com/en/projects/bsnes-mt/

Does it work with Mesen?

I think I should use Gradius III as a template to check if the emulator is compatible.

Does it have HD Mode 7 + Widescreen?

I have downloaded 2.0.
bsnes-mt has mode 7 & widescreen, pixel perfect is optional. Mesen2 is just as good plus its a multi emulator. Mesen2 has overclock as well including bsnes-mt.

Okay so I got this installed but where's the wide-screen option?

For bsnes-mt either press F11 or Alt+Enter
For Mesen2 press F11
No, not full-screen, having wide screen Mode 7.

Like this with F-zero:

bsnes-mt implements HD Mode 7
Go to Settings>Enhancements

Use OpenGL, create a folder called shaders where bsnes-mt.exe is located and drag & drop folder there
I'm using the Quilez shader here @ https://www.emu-france.com/?wpfb_dl=6993
Search in from official higan-bsnes>higan shaders>Quilez.shader
Looks gorgeous & beautiful

Reason why I'm using a shader is because it stretches

I'm using the same Quilez.shader for Bahamut Lagoon
Looks really nice

If you're concerned regarding the pixel perfect option for bsnes-mt its optional, it fits the screen at center mode by 4:3. You can change those options to your liking.

I'm sorry but I have installed the shaders in the created folder yet i doesn't have wide-screen.

Here's the wide-screen option in BSNES HD I got:

Your screenshot seems like it's stretched wide-screen, not true WS.

That because I'm using bsnes-mt instead of bsnes-hd

I can understand if you're using bsnes-hd is because its the common libretro core.

Yes, I know. What I was saying an hour ago is how to get wide-screen. I've been searching for quite a while.

You told me that
bsnes-mt has mode 7 & widescreen...
yet I don't see any proper wide-screen options in the settings. Having the possibility to see more around gives a new point of view for the pseudo-3D games.

If MT cannot support true Widescreen it's fine but I don't really want to waste too much time on it when the main subject of the topic is about Fastroms.

PS: Gradius 3 runs smoothly now.

Awesome, glad to hear
