Let's give kudos in this thread to that animation that without the big budget, resources, meddling suits and explotation can come to be as good as the "AAA" of the animation

Behold, my introduction to the Indie short genre

This is one of my favorite surrealist indie animations. It's a full-length movie but there are hundreds of short episodes on the YouTube channel. Also, they have a video game.

have to recommend any/all works by vewn.

favs:
- twins in paradise
- bad kid stuff 1 & 2 ("Birthday" and "Nothing to hide")

Johnni Peppers works are also soooo good but she took them all of youtube & hosts them on her gumroad now, still highly recommend if ur able to watch any.

Those look like the bumper of an Anime/Adult Cartoon channel, my favorite of her is one of a cat that fights other cats for money

Down to Memory Lane with this one

This one is genuinely underrated and I've always wished it had gotten more attention, I have no clue how stop motion fares here but I assume it's fine. GOOEY GOATS is good fun. I was obsessed with it when I first saw it.

I'll put CliffSide
from the same person behind Murder Drones.

Little Runmo
by the person behind The Amazing Digital Circus

And Double King
by the maker of the clip for SOURCE (by Fever The Ghost).

Recently I discovered these charming classic shorts.

Fun Fact: the Animaniacs were supposed to be ducks, and the designer of the prototype in fact based himself in this short

My favourite indie game is Dusk. I hope everyone's played it, but I know most people into indies are huge sprite who appreciators. This game made me want to go out and play every indie FPS that came out for a few months. That was a mistake.

Dusk has meaty feeling weapons like Doom. It looks like Quake and handles similarly with a more accessible version of bunnyhopping for movement and damage also moving the player, including self-damage. The enemies also explode into meaty chunks. The entire tone of the game is more of a horror film accompanied with ambient music, although with more recognisable melodies than Quake's soundtrack. On the other hand, it also has all out action music in it.

Movement is the right speed for characters to be moving in 3D games. Everyone else is wrong! It also included object manipulation and durability, with many objects in the game that can be moved or broken. Terrain itself is often able to be exploded as it was in the Build games.

I recommend this to whoever appreciates Doom or Quake, and perhaps the Build games.
