In This Thread I Will Finally Complete One Of The Greatest JRPG's Know To Man For The First Time (FF7)

Its extremely obvious you don't know how the multiple timelines system is presented or functions on any level within the story so there's no real point in talking abt it. Even if you were right it wouldn't really make any sense though. The fact that you want to talk about how the existence of multiple timelines somehow invalidates

Maybe a single timeline getting obliterated from existence still sucks even if other timelines exist because we have basic human empathy and can appreciate that an alternate timeline Gaia or Aerith are not the same Gaia and Aerith and that all lives in all timelines have value? Maybe the cast aren't the ones who can travel between and tamper with the timelines in the first place.

Highly recommend at least knowing what the story of something is before just typing up critique that is debunked by just playing or engaging with the themes of the thing at a base level.

I don't mean this in a mean way either I just don't rly see the point.

I have read some of the plot, but you are right that I don't know it in and out. To be fair, I don't think it is fully clear what is going on with the timeline stuff at this point. And knowing Nomura's track record, he might not know himself. I'm fully expecting to be completely whelmed at whatever happens in part 3.

Yea to be honest I don't get what was going on with any of that stuff while I was playing the games either, I was hoping it would all make sense in the end of Remake but it didn't and I haven't finished Rebirth yet but there seems to be no signs of The Whispers in that one so maybe even they realized that it made no sense to have them in there.

I'm pretty comfortable saying it's not building to anything too crazy. Rebirth pretty well demonstrated that they still want to "play the hits". The ending of the new games will probably be a bit different from the original, but I expect the outcomes to stay about the same.
The alt timeline stuff isn't quite as tangible as, say, Back to the Future; characters don't time-travel but at least one person is making choices that keep shunting them from reality to reality. I assume, ultimately, it's to give Zack and Aerith a happy ending together alive, in some form or another, but that's just a guess.

That would make sense, from their perspective. Still, that would be a betrayal of the original in my eyes. Zack and Aerith have a specific role in the story and it wasn't for them to have a happy ending, I'll say that much. The decisions in Remake trilogy are purely driven by fan service. In my eyes, that is where you lose all integrity as a storyteller, when you make decisions to curry favor with the fans. Also there was a hint in an interview that they want to lead up to Advent Children, but to me that is another mistake.

Oh I think I mentioned it in my last spoiler tagged post, but they already covered Advent Children in a sense. It's really only featured to show off "Hey, this game can look about as good as a movie", pure fireworks and spectacle. (I'll confess, I did enjoy it in the moment though.)

This game is so fye??

Just passed the Dyne part bro so sad

There's like no way I can beat this in 3 days.

If you guys have been following like at all you would know the whole point of this thread was for me to beat the game in 10 days, the reason I chose 10 days was because I used a site to see how long it would take to beat the game and it said an average of 30+ hours was needed to complete it. So I thought I could beat it in 10 days but what I didn't take into account was that I have a life outside of just playing RPGs. So I hadn't made a lot of progress since last week because of school, I barely played all weekend because I had been using my study hall time to play FF for the challenge when I really should have been doing my project for Bio (I finished it btw if your wondering- Got and A-!) So I had to do the project during my weekend which kind of sucks but I actually like my science classes since I just like science in general so I actually didn't mind doing it but still it was a very uneventful weekend. So I may not beat the game in the next 3 days BUT here's the thing, I'm gonna have a pretty big weekend coming up soon so if I can push the date to then I might be able to beat it by this coming Tuesday (The 18th) so I might do that but I still feel like I kind of failed you guys with me pushing my deadline and I was also kind of hoping to use that long weekend to catch up on stuff I missed out on cause I was grinding FF7 so much. Any way the real reason I was writing this was to see if you guys would care if I push the finish date and I'm pretty sure you guys wouldn't care but still feel like I just failed the challenge in general if I do that (Also I don't want Num to pull my teeth out)

Any way I gotta go do my civics homework so I will check in later, peace!

I'll give you till the end of the weekend, otherwise I'm in the car and I'm on my way.

No don't worry about it, I think everyone is more interested in hearing what you think of the experience, not whether or not you're speedrunning the game.

I was extremely doubtful that you'd be able to beat the game in just 10 days unless you had nothing else going on or were using a guide and speeding through it. Take as long as you need, rushing when you don't want to will only hurt your experience!

My play through took this long , it should be less by 4-8 hours cuz I spent 3 days looking for the black stone , you know I hate to google stuff and wanted to figure it myself.

Anyway thanks to everyone saying to not rush it because I have so much too do in school now and I gotta catch up because I was just sick for the past 3 days so I was just in bed watching YouTube but I will get back to it soon!

Yeah I think it would take you more than 35 hours of playtime lets say each week you put 12-14 hours of playtime it can take nearly 2 weeks to beat FF7 just 10 days is difficult to do so.

Hope you get better soon bro , lol I too got sick when I was playing through FF7 took me 5 days to get back to the game.

In this thread did you finally complete one of the greatest JRPGs known to man for the first time (FF7)?
