2023 was a damn good year for games, but my favorite game that year was a little game for PC/Xbox/PS4-5 called "Wanted:Dead". It's made by former devs of Ninja Gaiden 2 and is a hybrid of a 3rd person shooter like Resident Evil 6 with some Sekiro in there, and it has a real gem of a protagonist named Hannah Stone.
She's a former criminal (I think the game might actually say "terrorist") who's been hired to be a cop and work alongside a weirdo group of other former criminals, and she doesn't really have passion for the job. She just wants to end her shift, go home, eat sushi and watch movies, so she'll break procedure or get brutal with criminals just so she can get on with her day faster.
Her mission brings her on a journey of growth and maybe some self-discovery. Its hard to tell because the story line is incredibly rushed/incomplete feeling, but I do enjoy what is there. Hannah is awesome. People say her voice acting is bad but if thats true then why DO I LOVE HER!?
