I received the Master Chief Collection as a gift by a friends and even the first Halo being one of my favorite FPS os all time, I never tried anything after and it was like 20 years since I played anything Halo related.

So, out of curiosity of play something different than JRPGs, Soulslikes and general retro stuff, I decided to start Halo Reach, the first chronological chapter of the franchise.

And I'm really surprised of how good is this game, since the presentation with good characters, action packed stages that go direct to the point and enemies that make you brain work, more than a bunch of FPSes from this era that I played.

I'm halfway through and I just stopped because I need to do laundry, but I want to finish it today (I started yesterday).

Halo reach is super fun, if you get a chance mess around with some of the split screen modes it’s a really good time

halo reach is considered one of the best by the fans, great gameplay, great story.

i had a blast playing it back then, i'll revisit it sometime

If you havent play the series in Heroic you didnt beat the game

Yeah, Reach was really good. It was the last Halo game I played, good times with friends on that. I genuinely lost all interest in the series when Bungie stepped away and 343 took over. Even back then I knew nothing good would come of carrying the franchise on.

While I like it, it's my least favorite Bungie Halo. I'd put CE, 2, 3 and ODST above it. I just found all of the characters exceptionally dull. I also despised the ghosting that the original Xbox 360 version had. Thankfully, it was removed in the MCC version.

I’ve heard! I adore 1 and if I ever take the plunge on 360, the games I want most for that console are Halo 3 and Reach. I also think Halo Wars looks neat and I’d like to try it.

Woah, what a reach!

*In shambles*

Halo: Reach is excellent. It was the perfect send off to the series that somehow kept going for another seven more games and only the two RTS spinoffs are really worth checking out (Infinite's multiplayer is pretty good though).

I'd advise you to keep trucking on with the previous games as well, they're all extremely well done, even though the original might feel a bit lacking compared to all the features and functions added immediately afterwards starting with Halo 2.

But, what’s so good about 1 is that it has this uniquely huge feel. I played it in 2023 and it was doing things that were still impressing me. I absolutely love it, and it’s a total steal in retro game shops, being an average price of around $10. An insane price for a game so quality.

The PC port in the Master Chief Collection is also worth going for. I'd recommend even sticking to the original visuals just because the remaster goes for that more muted and overly shiny tone that a lot of games of the Xbox 360/PS3 generation went for and I think it just looks better overall in the original style.

I finished it last night. Had a great time with it.

I liked how the story is basically Star Wars Rogue One but Halo. Need to work right now but maybe later I'll start the first one (with original graphics of course).

This content has age limitations!🙂 so it is hard to see it!
Well, perhaps that’s a sign you are too young to watch!

Worry not! If you aren’t, you’ll be able to follow the link to YouTube and nobody’s stopping you from clicking back to RGT. And, if you ARE too young, there’s still plenty of amazing videos on the internet to see! It’s just one Egoraptor animation, and there are plenty of other videos that you can watch!

(I will say, on this website, it does bring up the “it’s age restricted, so you have to go to YouTube to watch” thing. Annoying, but not too bad because it’s a simple hyperlink.)

I mean you can watch it in YouTube not here
Hey, we all use YouTube, but that doesn’t mean we all have to love it. I do, but there’s SO MANY REASONS TO NOT.

(I try to not let the stupid decisions by the owners of the website bother me.)

I enjoyed Reach and ODST a lot and wished that there were more side story games.
