Hello everyone let me introduce myself to someone who doesn't know me my name is lod can call me anything, I'm learning to draw to distract myself. I also love writing, I love programming, which I still want to learn. I want to learn Japanese too.I don't know if it was good, it wasn't my third attempt this month to try to learn I'm feeling tired of trying

Sorry for any inconvenience, I just wanted to comment on my evolution as a donkey trying to learn.

Olá, você está tentando aprender sozinho ou está seguindo tutoriais/recursos?
I was trying to learn how to make a face, which I use tutorials to learn because I can't afford those expensive courses.I'm trying to learn on my own I just want to learn the basics so I can write my books, covers, and make my mangas that I'm going to publish.

If you like to draw manga style, you should buy the book "Draw like a Mangaka" by Marcel Khun, a great manga artist and youtuber, the book is quite good and one of the first topics is how to draw the human face, you should give it a go if you can afford it.

Youtube has more than enough resource to learn. If you'd like a good read the classics can be found for free in Archive.org. I have never spent a cent on this hobby aside from my Tablet (Which is the cheapest available.)

ObrigadoThanks for the tips, I just want to do my drawings because one day in the future I want to publish my manga, the story of which is about my original character that I have in my head, which is Lod.That she studies at a magical academy, she meets several friends And I also got a tablet that will arrive in a few months

Lápis e papel o tempo todo. Tente copiar desenhos de coisas que você gosta e compare, repita até se sentir confiante com seus traços. Tente se divertir, desenhe o que quiser. O progresso é lento, mas recompensador.
AhAh, now that I understand, I'm going to learn the way I want, I'm going to draw my way and not care about other people's criticism.

When I draw I focus on whatever I want should look like in the way I want. It helps me a lot because:

- Things doesn't have to look realistically. Young me made a mistake of trying to copy real life as it is. However studying how objects looks like is fundamental but they don't have to be 100% identical, they just should look okay and "cool".

- You don't have to draw realistically or "the way I loved" way, it gotta be satisfactory.

I won't say "practice a lot so you'll eventually be good" because practicing blindly will lead you nowhere, you need to determine your weakness to set goal for what will strenght you.

Perhaps it's a personal tip but when you have no idea how to draw you will think a lot how to do. It was one of my mistake. Art is not done by thinking!!! You gotta let your emotions move your hand!!!!

In the end without really wanting to draw whatever you want art cannot be forced, when you force it your work will be shit. You need mood and clear head for it as tons of my works are "randomly done when I was in the mood". For example:

Bakami S..png

In the end I don't decide for a "style", I just for for what I'm in the mood for. That's why despite I can limit myself to any style almost all my artworks has their own style because I do believe style depends on theme of the artwork. For example drawing this in manga style was its own proper way to "exist" and this couldn't exist if I had painted in realistically, I didn't have such a mood despite I can paint photorealistic artworks but it was not the point for it. And photorealism doesn't matter if it doesn't look appealing anyway for me.

As for learning Japanese I actually wrote a tip so check this shit out yo lol:

Well guys I'm going to take care of myself I need courage Several things
Don't forget being brave is not about not fearing, being brave is about having enough courage to still move on despite you shit in your pants due to extreme fear. ::winkfelix

If fears pins you down it always help to scream for hours as if you will activate your Super Saiyan 3 mode ayy lmao:

If screaming doesn't help remind yourself that failing in life is a scary outcome so whatever hardship you will have to endure for success always matters and nothing compared to really screwing up. Think and know you wouldn't wanna dissappoint your future self. ::winkfelix Don't let your present self curse at your past sense!!! Think 4 dimensional!!!

Imma be the pedantic one sharing my boring resources and tips:
  • DrawABox. It's free lessons and exercises on the very, very basics of drawing: Line, shape and structure. I won't lie to you: It is boring, gets boring really quick, so I recommend tackling this for 5/10 minutes before drawing something else unless you want to take drawing awfully serious lol. They are good exercises, once you master this shit you are halfway there.
  • Pinterest is great for references as long as you disable the AI recommendations setting. Learning from reality is not compatible with AI pictures. Bases/Drawn references might help you understand structure too. It also has short cool art tutorials!
  • The idea of learning from reality is to know how to read objects as simpler shapes you can easily sketches (like, example, being able to read a head as a sphere/cube and a rectangle with a shitton of semi-spheres for details), you don't need to dig deep into realism.
  • As others said: Pen and paper. And for the line exercises, a BIC pen. Using a BIC pen, as stupid as it sounds, can help you learn to do your lines with less pressure on them, faster too and with more confidence.
Drawing is learned by analysing and repetition: You do something, it looks off, you know what looks off so you draw the same thing again and now it looks better. It is like this over and over again until the shapes get carved into your brain. Don't get discouraged by it, is the naturaland frustrating process and keep doing exercises and watching tutorials. You got this!

Here's my support post: Keep at it!
I started photoshop and inkscape about a month ago and it'll take time but be consistent!

Yep. I use Photoshop for a long time for my digital artworks because it makes sense to use it since it has tons of image manipulation tools make things so easy you can even just go for photorealistic artworks out of nothing in no time!!! For example:

It took me like half an hour to make this and I would make it way faster if I wasn't having conversation with one of my friend in the meanwhile!!! Photoshop is good for quick artworking thanks to its good way to create shapes and manipulate them and then color manipulation tools.

And then few months ago I started to use Pixelorama for pixel artworks and their animation. This shit makes shit so easy yo. For example:

This is our mascot here the RGT-Tan!!:
