If you could only play one singleplayer game for the rest of your life, which game would it be.

Do single player games with multi-player capabilities count? If so, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. It has peak classic style gameplay that I love and the most content out of any game in tye franchise.

I deleted my original reply because my brain skipped over the word "singleplayer" in the title and I said an MMO.

Probably a roguelike with procedural created levels. Bonus if you can create your own stuff with it. Something like 30XX (that has multiplayer, but it doesnt have to be)

Regardless, only playing one game ever again would be terrible lol

Heroes of Might and Magic III. Even without the multiplayer that game has thousands of hours worth of content. NWN could also be a candidate if all these modules made by fans count.

if multiplayer games were allowed i would definitely choose World of Warcraft or Genshin Impact. Those have SO much content.
Although you could play them in a singleplayer way, I feel the question is more fun this way.

Maybe i could have formulated it like:
Choose 1 singleplayer game
Choose 1 multiplayer game

Freelancer. After finishing the story campaign it's possible to fly across galaxies, do the quests, gather resources, find the secret weapons, and much more other deeds. I've spend over a thousand hours in this game.
And it's possible to play this game in multiplayer, with friends, or through outer servers. I remember the Big Space Battles, when dozens of spaceships fight each other. That were awesome times, yeah.

I like Space sandbox games too. Definitely check out Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, it's pretty much a modern Wing Commander Privateer in all but name.

Mangagamer's Sengoku Rance, a regional conquest, "ecchi" tactical-rpg; once the main storyline is over, you can start again by choosing another region as your own, trying to conquer the rest of the nations with different approaches and tactics available. Each game has a different outcome, with diplomatic interactions and combinations of battles that are always different and unpredictable. Honestly not for brats. 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Originally for PC but now playable on Android devices via Xsystem4 apk.

alot but I think this one is fair , if not then:

I think there is another post of what game you re-play the most or something like that, and my answer is the same here:
Crusader Kings 2

War, from Count to Emperor, religions, secret societies, economy, holy wars, etc; and that's only without mods. I have been playing this for almost a decade so its my obvious choice.

Hmm.. A conquest game? At first glance, from the photo and your description, it seems like the serious and respectable twin of the title I mentioned: Sengoku Rance, crazy and zany brother. 😜

It might be; I didn't play that game but I heard and read something about it while in my many scavenger hunts for VN's, because it has some vn elements right? That might be one difference: besides chunks of text appearing when you reach certain historical dates and your own actions, there is no scripted story. Another one is that there is no sexual content besides some text describing your actions(very mild) when you cheat your spouse.
It seems the similarities lies on the gameplay, as you described in your comment, the diplomatics, starting in any point of the map you want(which here it can mean different terrain, religion, government laws, societies, etc), tactics, etc.

Freelancer. After finishing the story campaign it's possible to fly across galaxies, do the quests, gather resources, trade between planets and star systems, find the secret weapons, and much more other deeds. I've spend over a thousand hours in this game.

You are my personal rockstar for the day! Freelancer is one of my all time favorite games.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is really good and a strong recommend, but I have to agree with this:

Checked. Nope, Freelancer is better to me. It has own and special spirit. I played a lot, A LOT spaceship simulators and sandboxes, but...nope, Freelancer is my only and forever love❤️😌

Personally the one game I'd want on the desert island with me is Castlevania SOTN. Its the only non arcade game I have beaten completely more than 3 times, and the only game I have 100%'ed more than once.

I'd honestly rather not have video games at all then never have access to SOTN again.

And why would you choose that game?

I would maybe choose Skyrim probably, because it has a decent amount of content and I could roleplay to make said content more replayable.
And maybe its cheating against the spirit of this question, but you can download mods with new content.
that will be ninja gaiden black on the xbox og

It Would probably be Dragon Age origins: You have six origin stories each with a lot of variations of choices, the one that I always use for a canon Playtrough is the Commoner Dwarf one. So it technically has infinite replay value because of all the differents events you can get in a save.

Slay the Spire.

That damn game has completely ruined all other Deckbuilders for me. It's infuriatingly addictive, practically infinitely replayable and genuinely just refuses to get boring for me.

And hell, if it ever somehow did get boring, there're plenty of huge mods available for it as well.
