hiii how is everyone!!!
about two months ago at this point, i made a thread asking about characters from an old japanese game magazine. they were these two girls, presumably girlfriends, who appeared on several covers of the adult pc game magazine pc dolphin. because of their resemblance to my girlfriend and me, i asked the people on this forum for help identifying the characters under the assumption that they came from a game that was covered in the magazine, not realizing they were simply drawn for the magazine and nothing else.
however.
this lead me down a rabbit hole. i ended up discovering, with the help of you lovely people, that the artist was a woman named sonoko saito. problem! i couldn't find ANYTHING about her or her work anywhere online. i did some digging and found some poor quality photos of her drawings, but that was useless to me, i needed more. by searching those little suggestions under the initial pictures you click on google images, i found auctions for some of her sketches. these sold in 2020, so once more, no use to me. BUT. after more searching, trying all variations of her name in english, japanese, adding "art," or "manga," to the search bar, etc. etc, i discovered something i would have never expected. sonoko saito has an art book, and it was selling for $14. so naturally, i bought it. it was on mercari, so i used buyee, which meant a lot of waiting. buyee had to negotiate with the seller, buy it, get it to the warehouse, all before it could get to me. i've done this before, i use these sites every now and again, i figured this was normal. one day, though, i track the package.

what. huh. there was a problem with the address? i order stuff here all the time, i live here, what's the problem...? (spoiler: i still don't know). but as it stands, i have been waiting for something like a month and a half for this book to go back to buyee through customs and all that. i seriously fear it will never get to me. so what, do i just give up??? probably, yeah!!!
BUT THEN. TONIGHT. out of morbid curiosity, i go searching again, and to my complete and utter shock!!! there's a new listing. japanese amazon has a copy. no way. holy shit. i kid you not-- it's $3. my mind is blown.. so this is where i'm at now. i ordered it again, this time through sendico. i'm going to use a different address because i'm afraid of this one not working again. if the buyee one ends up getting to me as well, so be it, i will have two (maybe i can sell one). i am hoping, i am praying, i am crossing my fingers, i am on my knees begging the gods of shipping and handling to PLEASE GET ME THIS DAMN BOOK.
as promised, when it arrives, i will take high quality scans and post them here. bear with me everyone :)
