I really missed games like Marble Madness and made a homage to it which people seem to like!

I am James a solo developer who made a homage to classics like Marble Madness, Gyroscope, Hamsterball and Ballance called Marble's Marbles. It is designed to honor them while having a slighty more modern feel. Some people on reddit recommended I post here!

It has 1000s of players and 60 positive reviews so it is doing some things right! Here is the steam page https://store.steampowered.com/app/4137920/Marbles_Marbles/

Here is a review from retronews https://www.retronews.com/marbles-marbles-impressions/

I would love to hear what you think and happy to answer questions.

PS Trackball support is in the works!

I also like Ballance and other "3D" Marble games.
Ballance has actually been rerealed on steam and works great. I played it on steamdeck before making this and the influence is pretty obvious in some levels!

i very like this kind of games

i prefer when the camera follow the ball, something like Kula World on PS1;
that was imo a bit ruined from the time limit, otherwise great

i have played to death also another one on PC atm i cannot remember the name, not Marble Blast but same genre

Marble Madness i have played the Amiga port back then

Spindizzy on C64 was fabulous too :)

Congratulations on successfully publishing your game, James! May I ask what programming language, graphics software and engine you used to build it?
I find games like yours very inspiring. ::flexing

I use Unity as the engine (with c#), I make all the models with blender3d and I use photogimp for the textures.

Thank you for the nice comment :D

here is a behind the scenes video

congrats on getting your game on Steam. The "ball" games just aren't my thing but
it looks great nonetheless. Can you get a trackball for modern PCs?

Fair enough, obviously for a certain kind of gamer.

Yeah there are heaps of them, they are mainly sold an accessible device now.

Looks like an isometric Ballance. I like a lot the artstyle! Some of the darker environments remind me of an obscure marble game called Spin Off. Wishlisted it.

Best of Luck with your game! I hope it does really well! ::winkfelix
Thanks, while I obviously would always like more, it has over 2000 players and 60 positive reviews which I would say is success!

Rad!
pop back when you got that trackball going and let us know!

I wish they made it more modern OS compatible.

Growing up, I was always so envious of how much better my older brother was at these games compared to my own skill level. Love the look of this one, might have start practicing again!

That was/is one of the awesome things about consoles, even single player games become social experiences.

The take turn and watch was actually a pretty good experience.

wishlisted! Great work

Now I want an open world ball game with branching paths and a bizarre story/characters, like Choro-Q
