As in something that doesn't require too much effort and isn't too complicated or frustrating.

So No games about war. They make me physically ill these days.

I guess animal crossing count's as one but I've never enjoyed something like that. I haven't enjoyed farming stuff like stardew valley either. I'm sorry. If anyone has recommendations i would be thankful.

Get sucked into a huge RPG maybe? Final Fantasy or something

My attention span doesn't seem to work for it... Too may things in my head way too many. I was playing smt v recently but i couldn't do it... I love the game but i couldn't do it. I don't understand why i never get back to playing it even though i like it.

Makes sense. Sometimes simple is better

Super Robot Wars J and W

Ok maybe there is "wars" in tittle but at it's core it's just a simple, easy, turn based RPG and Nadessico crew always lighten things up — or you can just skip it's story entirely and enjoy seeiing robots beat the shit of each other

Highly recommend Katamari Damacy, or any Katamari game at all. Extremely fun, quite simple and does not take itself seriously at all.

It always manages to put a smile on my face, regardless of my mood.
Nanaaaa nanananaaaa katamari damacyyy

Seconded

I like a lot of the suggestions that have already been mentioned - Chibi-Robo and Katamari Damacy in particular - but to add two to the pile:

Rimworld might be worth a look.
It has a lot structural similarities to something like Stardew Valley in the sense that you build up your settlement and eventually farm, but don't let that put you off - it is absolutely its own thing.
It is kind of an emergent sandbox mixed with a settlement builder that has a lot of randomization elements, if that description helps.
I find myself just getting into the groove and losing track of time with that game quite often. Very relaxing to me.

Another angle to take might be something absorbing and mechanically dense - like Slay the Spire, to name a famous example.
For me at least, getting really into the weeds with a game that requires my full attention to engage with it can be really zen. Probably a matter of personal preference though.

gravity rush is always the game i go back to when i feel my mind is not live. just think of the music, please. 2 is really good too but will never do me, or do you, like 1 does.

my thing with it is the atmosphere, it is certainly """lighter""" than smt v (i guess i mean it's more fun lol) but i feel like the game is more understanding of you, in a way. you'll get it if you play it.

sadly it's only on ps vita and ps4, but you can always find a way on pc...

Tetris (especially Effect or 99) take just enough brain power that I can't think about anything else while also being engaged with playing the game.

But my favorite for relaxing is Lumines. Get some head phones and listen to the music while making matches. An hour will slide by without you even knowing it. It's my happy place.

Maybe some 3D platformers/collect-a-thon? They are pretty chill in general and I find them a good way to forget about other things and relax without having to invest much attention. Ape Escape, Spyro games, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Mario 64, Sly Cooper, and hear me out... PS2's Dog's Life::eyebrows

Katamari and Zelda would probably be my first recommendations. Maybe the first Ni No Kuni also.

dave the diver and american truck simulator, if you want to feel very chill/relaxed

A mock cover for an amazing and addictive game.

wait I had a revelation.
Games that are chill and allow your mind to think about something else aren't good for this.
You need a game that requires 100% of your brain power. When you play such games you won't have time to think about anything else, literally.
Probably not what you wanted just thinking out loud nvm me.

Like Numubunde said, I like to wander on some fun and easy open 3D platformer.
Or some game with music you like, just simple games.
If that does not work then the approach of Spike could do it.

When my father died, I had started to play LEGO the hobbit. I didn't search for a way to disconnect, but it resulted (to my own surprise) in a kind of "getaway" from real life, LEGO games are really easy to play and (if you want to collect everything) really long. So the playtime was a way of disconnecting for a pair of hours. Really comforting at the time.

I would say that, if there is any sort of property IP that you like (eg. Zelda, Avengers, Mario) try with a game of that. I also agree with the 3D platformers, simple to play, not a very elaborated story, and engaging.

If you have a controller with gyro or a PS3, Flower is a really relaxing and atmospheric game, at least in my opinion. For that matter, all the other games by Thatgamecompany (Flow, Journey, Sky: Children of the Light) are also very calm and beautiful.

Would definitely also second the Katamari Damacy series, and some more indie titles as well: Citizen Sleeper, Tacoma, Gris, In Other Waters, The Artful Escape, ENA: Dream BBQ, The Forgotten City, Paradise Killer, Machinarium, Samarost 1, 2, and 3

Some retro games that might be worth looking into: Pilotwings series, Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, Kirby's Dream Course, Yoshi's Island, Trip World, Spyro the Dragon (1st game in particular, imo), the Klonoa series, the SSX series, Gex: Enter the Gecko, Tail Concerto, YoYo's Puzzle Park, Threads of Fate, Popful Mail, Chibi-Robo, the Pikmin series, EarthBound, Bazaru De Gozaru No Game De Gozaru

Most Nintendo games are pretty chill—or, at the very least, easy to pick up and play.
