Guys, hear me out, the Monster Hunter movie is actually a good movie, you just have to watch it from a different perspective.
I mean, it's not a good MH movie but it is a good and honest movie.

Time will vindicate it, just like it did with the RE movies!

The best thing about the movie is that it probably helped advertise the game a bit, like a little, a smidge.

I enjoyed it but just as a "bad movie", it falls for all the things other bad game adaptations pull. So wild that they hardly ever just ya know, adapt the story properly, even just the first chunk o it would be acceptable, no need for a condensed "everything monster hunter so far" thing.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Capcom has this reputation of being too liberal with their IPs. It's one thing I admire N for, they tend to have high standards when it comes to crossmedia.

The RE felt like more of an action movie with zombie apocalypse tropes and they used the game characters as fan service. Their creative liberties turned it into something else not just a video game movie. It’s the reason this film series has a special place in my heart. Monster Hunter on the hand took another game as its reference, I’m talking about the multiplayer part of MGS Peace Walker where Konami collaborated with Capcom and made the MHXMGS mashup which was the movie was going for.

Nah it has a bad structure and doesn't feel like it understands what Monster Hunter is. The only good thing about it is props, like armor and weapons. Its also funny how they clearly wanted it to have a sequel of some sort, so they spent all that time building towards it and the whole movie feels like an intro to nothing.
