The Story mode in this game is pretty great, the boards are shorter which gives it it a lot of replay value and takes it so that the story mode doesn't drag for too long
Comparison for reference.
I actually liked that you'll battle three variants of Koopa kids throughout the mode by either gathering coins from the other koopa kids or winning duo minigames against koopa kids before the 15 turn limit is up. There's also toad who's here to assist the player in 2v2 matches in some battles. That's about it then, The story in this game is great.
