I finally finished ff7.

i believe a few sony employees did assist with the of the initial development of the prerendered cutscenes in the original final fantasy vii - not in any sort of major way, but i believe they were some consulting done at the time regard how they were rendered or the technology in general

Oh! thanks for the explanation. ::dkapproves

I'd say that the chocobos are not super necessary. But I also hated trying to catch them so I never breeded them.
True, they are not necessary, but my rpg ocd requires me to get the best equipment/items, and I can't just not get the best summon in the game >_< My first playthrough, I didn't know how to beat ruby so had to breed ::sadkirby But it was still fun, racing your own chocobo was pretty cool.
You and me both. I think the water girl and the purple martial artist had the least amount of combo inputs for attacks, but i haven't played it since early 2000.
Using rose is suffering ::sadkirby

For me FF7 never clicked for me .

It was interesting atleast but i prefer the 16- and 8-bit games more . Especially FF4 was more akin to my taste.

Grandia was my first step into JRPGs . Awesome game but one i beat way too many times and am burned out from it . ::cirnoshrug

Another huge favourite of mine that i found recently on the Snes was Metal Max returns .
Everything in that post-apocalyptic JRPG just perfectly alined to make likings and its awesome . Check it of you can and want .

Myself, I gave Metal Max a go. If I was 20 years younger, I would definately have put in the effort to get past where I got stuck/confused. There is a lot to figuring out the mechanics of the game. It did grab me more than a lot of games but I saved it and started playing another game. When I came back to it I just was more stuck, lol.

Yeah , it has its quirks and doesnt explain everything to understand the systems , but i love that it is so open and doesnt force anything while it has no real story that limits the exploration of its setting and its world . The NPCs give great information about stuff that can be found in the overworld and even some secrets . It has the same approach that the Pokemon games had in the first 3 gens , for me atleast .

And for this game i did used sometimes a walkthrough to know what i must do for some bounties and how the weight system works .

Im a sucker for secrets , non-linear exploration and mysterious optional areas .

Yeah, maybe a walkthrough may have helped, but I feel guilty using them, lol. I have used them in the past and they are like a drug pulling you back when you get stuck. Probably not a good habit.

You got a good point and i agree . ::thinking

Somehow i wasnt really stucked in the game except about the water-cave , getting the Lockpick and getting the buggy .

Yeah and many items arent explained what those do which i used an guide fot to know it . Except i would use it but it wasnt still clearly explained and i thought i could waste them instantly through the use-option . But thats old JRPG design back then. ::eggmanlaugh
