Dreamcast I feel like the OG Xbox is reincarnation of the Dreamcast.

While it's true that the GameCube received Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2, the original Xbox actually had a broader selection of Sega games, including several titles that were exclusive to Xbox or unavailable on the GameCube.

Sega Games on Xbox OG (Original Xbox):
  1. Jet Set Radio Future
  2. Shenmue II
  3. Panzer Dragoon Orta
  4. GunValkyrie
  5. Otogi: Myth of Demons
  6. Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors
  7. Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller
  8. ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth
  9. Headhunter
  10. Headhunter: Redemption
  11. Sega GT 2002
  12. Sega GT Online
  13. Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
  14. Virtua Fighter 5
  15. Sega Soccer Slam
  16. Sega Superstars
  17. Sega Rally Championship 2005
  18. Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II
  19. Shenmue II
You missed out Spikeout .

The first Headhunter , sega superstars , Sega Rally Championship 2005 and Virtua Fighter 4 & 5 never were on the original xbox . Almost all games i named (except headhunter and virtua fighter 4) released on the xbox 360 .

That's very informative, I didn't know the Dreamcast could support Windows CE.
So much so that it says as much on the actual hardware

Not only that but many unknown japanese devs jumped too on the original xbox-wagon but most games stayed in japan . Some created very underrated games like Phantom Dust , Phantom Crash , Blinx , Metalwolf chaos .
And mediocre but still interesting ones like Metal Dungeon and Gungriffon .

There are maybe even much more unknown japanese original xbox games that stayed in japan and were unheard of because the console wasnt a huge hit in japan but still made enough waves that sparked other enthusiasts towards the american green brick of gaming freedom .

Sega Games on GameCube:
  1. Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut
  2. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
  3. Sonic Heroes
  4. Sonic Mega Collection
  5. Sonic Gems Collection
  6. Sonic Riders
  7. Shadow the Hedgehog
  8. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
  9. Super Monkey Ball
  10. Super Monkey Ball 2
  11. Super Monkey Ball Adventure
  12. Virtua Striker 2002
  13. Worms 3D

Even without the Sonic Adventure titles, the original Xbox offered a richer selection of Sega games

Edit: this list isn’t complete, don’t take it as definitive.
PS2 had a handful too, more if you lived in Japan.

I looked at the games mentioned, and yes, I accidentally mixed them up with the 360 without realizing it.

I can't edit my post anymore, but thanks for correcting me.

I wish OG Xbox emulation was actually good so I could actually play these.
Agreed, ironically the only games that i can play of Panzer Dragoon are the Saturn ones (AKA miss "I can't be emulated easly due to all the BS installed to make me try to be more complex") but not Orta

That's very informative, I didn't know the Dreamcast could support Windows CE. Also yeah, I agree on why didn't it beat PS1. In fact, I think when the Saturn was released on such bad conditions, it didn't stain Sega's reputation, but it also destroyed the Dreamcast future/comeback before it even existed. There's something worth mentioning too, it's the GD-ROM. Sega didn't implement DVD format for the console. which it was starting to be the norm in late 90s, I think.
Sega was really great at hardware and was a great video game developer at the time. They had great influence in lots of related industries to come up with a super machine to dominate the industry for they were popular so naturally they were the first choice to invest on, but they had management issue. It was an internal issue that prevented them from deciding best way to invest on their video game consoles, which is why they lost their grip from what kind of world they were living in. I take it as they really believed in their BS of "bits", "blasting power" and tons of useless devices and addons they came up with their consoles enough to believe they were the sole reason for how the whole video game industry can evolve. That's why their tech was too alien and eventually because it was alien it couldn't become a new standard, and then they were suddenly left behind in tech.

For example Sega Dreamcast used GD-ROM discs despite as you said DVD discs were introduced to the world around late 90s. It seem primary reason for why they used GD-ROM discs is anti-piracy because standard ROM an ordinary person can access to cannot read a GD-ROM disc, it was a "special" CD format. It also indicates how much it adds cost to mass-producing Dreamcast games too but back then DVD was too expensive instead which it would take DVD popularity to reduce its cost. This does seems why they didn't prefer DVD format because Sega expected DVD would be always expensive which is one thing Sega didn't think one step ahead so they gone for GD-ROM discs instead. They may also thought thus they could make the console be cheaper than PS1 to sell, but when there is better around the corner, PS2, not many people would care about Dreamcast which Sega seemed to believe their name alone would sell a console. After they failed hard they understood they suck at consoles anymore and there is a bigger fish in the lake, so they had a tactical retreat moment and invested on arcades and video game development instead. Sony already had a head start with a successful PS1 and then PS2 came so Sega had no chance especially when Nintendo exist too. They did lost too much money to be able to risk a console again. Dreamcast was supposed to be hero who covered up failed Saturn!!! lol

However Sony played all their cards right. They really didn't care about anti-piracy and whatnot, instead they played on accessibility which is perhaps a strategic decision to at least sell the console instead of their games more and also using huge popularity to their advantage to still sell significant amount of legit games even when piracy had existed. So while a video game company may think that "hmm GD-ROM discs adds huge cost to us but at least no piracy about it hahaha" but then massive influence of PS1 and PS2 was like "damn probably half of our sells will be lost to piracy but hey at least PS1 and PS2 are so popular and not everyone is a pirate so we can still make significant profit". Piracy was always an issue, because of it Sega wanted to take action I guess while Spny was humble and did what they could. Either way Sony was overall a better decision for companies. And overall success of PS2 is a subject to write a book about in terms of hardware to business to whole strategy and stuff!!!

(they had potential but sadly it was wasted.)

It's the big reason #1, if we look into the roots of their problems, it goes way back, even before the Saturn was released, which is funny because if we somehow travelled to the past to stop this mess. We would must stop the Dreamcast, Saturn, 32X and perhaps the Sega CD too from existing. Basically, restart from 1991, and allow the Sony partnership to happen.
By the way, how did this conversation turn into time travelling?

Your argument about "Accessibility" is spot-on. Sega probably thought about "How do we make a perfect futuristic console" too hard. Which it lead to alien-like tech, like you mentioned, and that GD-ROM shenanigans.

I am not sure where to post this exactly but here we go.
Just as the title says, when SEGA was out of the console business, they made some Nintendo exclusive games but most notably for the OG Xbox.
I mean we've got SEGA GT (2002), Shenmue II (only in North America), Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller (Timed exclusive), JSRF, Panzer Dragoon Orta, etc...
Does anyone relate a little?

I would say Nintendo did too. Because the Gamecube got Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2; the Xbox didn't get SA 1 or 2 until the Xbox 360.
